My transmission is shifting really jerky. I took my car to the local Nissan dealership and they said it's not an actual transmission problem. They did a diagnostic and the code that came back was for the "Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit and A/T control unit power supply". They think the control unit is damaged, because they fixed the Overdrive about a week ago, it was blinking on and off and causing the car to kick in and out of Overdrive. Before I took it to Nissan I did the self-diagnostic procedure on it and it flashed back that code as well, but after I got it back from Nissan the diagnostic doesn't seem to work (flashes no code whatsover).

I was also wondering if the problem could be caused by some bad grounds, because I found 2 already that the undercoating paint was not scraped off. Cleaning these up seemed to fix an erratic Thermostat problem I was having.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. At least the Overdrive seems to work...

REALLY? Yes. I think I'd be interested in that. Are you pretty sure it works correctly?

Any idea how hard this thing is to install? And do you know if it's related to the Fluid Temp. Sensor circuit?

Please e-mail me at [email protected] for further correspondance, and thank you in advance VERY much!

Its not very hard to install. Just remove the passanger side kick panel, then unbolt the ECU and its right above that. The bolts are a little hard to reach. MAKE SURE this is what you need. Find out from the dealer if this is the computer you need frist. Also make sure the computer from a 89 will work in your car.

All Nissan told me was that the diagnostic code returned "Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit and A/T control unit power supply", so if the part you have is that one, that's what I need. How can I find out if one from an `89 will work in my `93?

I'd respond via AIM but I'm at work and cannot install it on this machine. E-mail is [email protected] or [email protected]

Thanks again.
