Price on a new drivers door anyone?!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

So I was visiting a good friend of mine last night, and parked up their driveway. His mom went out to pick his sister up from somewhere, and a minute later came back in the house. 'Andy, so sorry, I've just hit your car'

The back corner of her Tahoe hit my drivers door. I'm going to need a new one. Plus I want it doing quickly because the top of the door has bent out slightly and water from this non-stop rain we're having in the NE is getting in. I've moved it into my garage for now, but I need to drive this weekend and it's going to get wet and messy. Because they're such good friends, they're like family to me over here, we're trying to work out whether its best going through the insurance or not, or just giving me cash to have it replaced. However, I have a feeling its not going to be cheap. I had to have the two passenger side doors replaced on my Murano after someone drove into those 2 years ago, and that cost over $2000.

Unfortunately with it being Saturday, all the Infitini and Nissan recommended body shops around here that I've called are closed until Monday so I can't get any idea on rough prices. Has anybody had any body work done on their EX yet? Or infact any Infiniti? Do we know roughly what prices might be like? Any ideas are welcome.

Thankssss

Andy

One week to complete.

that really sucks. im sorry to hear that.accidents happen. but i guess you gotta get it fixed soon.

heres my storya month after getting my brand new EX. i was driving downtown and as i was making a right turn i waited for the pedestrians to pass then when it was clear i slowly moved forward and didnt see an old lady on the curb. guess she thought it was rude that i didnt wait for her to walk across. but she took her cane and shoved it straight into my passenger door. left a permanent circular dent and light scratch. i tried to repair it the best of my ability but still can see the dent.

i dont know whats wrong with people these days

thought i should share that lolin a situation like yours you could find a used door and just get it repainted but since our EX model is still new you wont be able to find any unfortunitely.

Hee Hee. You are a better man not to hurt that old lady.

Sorry, but I would of said something to her. Hell man, she hit your pride and joy. No one should touch another man's Infiniti EX journey without asking.

Sure you are welcome.

Funny thing if you look at my quotes and yours, they are different, but add up to be just about the same.

I wonder if different dealers charge differently.

Sounds like an insurance job to me, only if your deductable is less than $1K, if not, then I would get it fixed. You never know if your insurance rate goes up. Call and ask.
