One of my main concerns was the 'swappability' of the TPMS because I'm aware that they don't fit on all aftermarket rims. Not that it is a big concern, but I just don't like that little light come on in the dashboard. I'll be sure to ask about this when I go rim shopping.
Kinda off topic but I see you have Hankook tires on those babies. Which model are they and how are they working out for you thus far?
Cheers!
I imagine that if you go with 17's or 18's, you should be fine in terms of the TMPS sensors.
TireRack also gives you the option to order TPMS sensors with your wheel purchase. I'm not sure if they're like universal ones, Nissan ones, or what. But I'm sure that'd be something they could clear up for you if you call during business hours.
I've got the iPike studded W409s. Stock tire size. This is my 2nd season with them, and they're great. I will admit I did put some significant wear on them one night when driving a bit too aggressively on dry pavement, lol. But yeah, I really like them. They're amazing in emergency stop situations, and they offer great control when paired with the Rogue. If I want to break traction and do a controlled slide, I can, no problem. If I want to take it slow and not break traction, not an issue either. And with the Rogue, it oversteers instead of understeers which is what I'd much prefer since it's a lot more controllable. Ideally, I would get new tires for the 4th season, but I anticipate being able to use these for 5 seasons probably. (Just a guesstimate)They do bring of course the usual drawbacks of any set of studded tires though. They're louder (though not much), have a higher rolling resistance, and on dry pavement, they can break traction easier than you'd expect in an emergency stop situation due to the metal studs. I've never really encountered that in the Rogue though. But I recall one time with my Dodge Ram I used to own with studded tires and almost slamming into the car in front of me because my wheels locked up much easier than non-studded tires would have. But that truck did weigh 5500lbs to the Rogue's 3300lbs, and it didn't have ABS, lol. So yeah, if you've never owned a set of studded snow tires, those are the drawbacks you can expect. But the major plus is that studded snow tires can't be beat when it comes to an emergency stop in snow/ice.
