So, I thought I'd share this random bit of trivia with you all...$614 PER WHEEL for replacement 17" SL wheels... LOL.

See, the tire shop I take my car to for getting the summer/winter tires swapped out scratched up my wheels some with their machine. It honestly wasn't enough to bother me, but I figured I'd show them and maybe get my next changeover for free or something. But they said they'd replace my wheels for me. So I thought, "Ok, cool, new is always good...I wonder if I can get them to buy me aftermarket wheels instead of OEM wheels...probably cheaper since the OEM's are probably like $225/wheel or something..."And that's when I called up the dealership...I could not stop laughing when they told me the price, haha. So, it looks like I may be getting my choice of wheels for free! I'm just waiting to hear back from the shop to see if that's an option.

Yeah for half the price you can get after market wheels that are twice as nice, and they'll be unique rather than than the same wheels as all other Rogue's.

This makes me extra happy I went with the full-size spare option, rather than the cargo organizer, because the full size spare rim is identical to the other 4, so if I do ever damage one I an swap in the extra spare rim....

$614 is MSRP. I checked a few of our NICO sponsors on the RH sidebar =>

Their prices were more like $491. Honestly, not too surprising since OEM wheels have always been more expensive.

I'm just blown away that $614 is what the dealers charge, and that's what the shop would be paying. I do have my eye on these though if they let me go aftermarket:

Still cheaper than the $491.

Doesn't sound too surprising to me. MSRP for OEM wheels for my other car are $579 (front) & $619 (back). It's pretty typical for OEM wheels from the dealer to be overpriced.

Yeah, I'm just waiting to hear back as to what their policy is. If it's they can only replace what I had, or if it's a I buy the wheels and then give them the receipt and they reimburse me type deal. I have my fingers crossed that I can get those Ultraleggeras.

Just a bit of an update: The shop is cutting me a check for the price of the wheels, but I must give up my "damaged" stock wheels after receiving the check. Their price is likely the military discounted price of $491, and not $614. Sooo...I will be getting those Ultraleggeras. Going to be about a month before they're on the car though. Shop is gonna take a few weeks to do all the paperwork and get approval to give me a check, and then I have to order the wheels and wait for them to get here to Alaska.

I had those OZ Ultraleggeras (same color) on my '03 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS. They looked great, but they were a pain in the a** to keep clean and the carbon fibre center hub discolored on all four wheels after about 3 months.

Yeah, I have heard they were a pain to clean. I figure I could get some sort of swiffer-like cleaning tool to make cleaning them easier. That is interesting about the center caps though. Did you attempt to have OZ replace them under warranty? One thing that is making me reconsider those wheels though is the fact that I've heard of lightweight wheels like those getting bent easily. I could see myself having no issues whatsoever with these wheels, or I could see myself regretting ever buying them. What I'm going to try to do is look for wheels around 19 lbs that look as close as the Ultraleggeras as possible. I just really like the look of them which is the primary thing that attracted me to them.

Yes, and OZ basically said it was my fault since the only thing that would have caused that was if I used wheel cleaner. I never used wheel cleaner and I was religious about doing a weekly hand wash on the car since it was black. I'll probably go with a different brand next time (BBS maybe?).

For what it's worth, I got used to the discoloration after a while. From a distance, it looked fine.

Well, I've got you beat. I had my car in to my dealer's body shop to repair a fender-bender (yes, they have their own body shop for their group of dealerships) and I got a side quote for $750 to replace one 16" STEEL WHEEL AND COVER!! I laughed on the phone... I'm either going to get some reconditioned 17" Rogue rims or something nice from Tire Rack.

Guess they're not called 'stealerships' for nothing. I have an excess of $700 after buying the OZ's and paying for shipping, so now I'm thinking of making another order from TireRack for some winter wheels and use my OZ's for the summer.

Btw, here's mine with the OZ wheels I got:

These are the best side pics of the wheels I have. If you'd like, I can go out and get a true side-profile picture.

(this one was taken with a friend's DSLR and wide-angle lens, which is why it looks weird)

Edit: I just went out and snapped this pic. You'll have to pardon how dirty my Rogue is, but everything has been melting here for the past 2 weeks.

Those look very nice and I'm in the market for some rims myself. Did you put the TPMS in the O.Z's or just some regular valves?

Thanks. Yeah, I had the TPMS sensors swapped over to the new wheels. I ordered them from TireRack, and it was one of the best customer service experiences I've had recently. 2 days after ordering, I got a call from them just to verify that I knew my wheels were on backorder and would have to be shipped from Italy, so it would take some time. They also informed me that I would most likely need new seals/grommets for the TMPS sensors when re-mounting them, so they were kind enough to add the correct ones to my order. I also had to split the shipping up on their website, but the person who called me combined the shipping to save me money. Buying from TireRack was an A++ experience.

That sounds great! I was also thinking of ordering from them and now hearing your review, it puts me at ease.

One of my main concerns was the 'swappability' of the TPMS because I'm aware that they don't fit on all aftermarket rims. Not that it is a big concern, but I just don't like that little light come on in the dashboard. I'll be sure to ask about this when I go rim shopping.

Kinda off topic but I see you have Hankook tires on those babies. Which model are they and how are they working out for you thus far?

Cheers!

I imagine that if you go with 17's or 18's, you should be fine in terms of the TMPS sensors.

TireRack also gives you the option to order TPMS sensors with your wheel purchase. I'm not sure if they're like universal ones, Nissan ones, or what. But I'm sure that'd be something they could clear up for you if you call during business hours.

I've got the iPike studded W409s. Stock tire size. This is my 2nd season with them, and they're great. I will admit I did put some significant wear on them one night when driving a bit too aggressively on dry pavement, lol. But yeah, I really like them. They're amazing in emergency stop situations, and they offer great control when paired with the Rogue. If I want to break traction and do a controlled slide, I can, no problem. If I want to take it slow and not break traction, not an issue either. And with the Rogue, it oversteers instead of understeers which is what I'd much prefer since it's a lot more controllable. Ideally, I would get new tires for the 4th season, but I anticipate being able to use these for 5 seasons probably. (Just a guesstimate)They do bring of course the usual drawbacks of any set of studded tires though. They're louder (though not much), have a higher rolling resistance, and on dry pavement, they can break traction easier than you'd expect in an emergency stop situation due to the metal studs. I've never really encountered that in the Rogue though. But I recall one time with my Dodge Ram I used to own with studded tires and almost slamming into the car in front of me because my wheels locked up much easier than non-studded tires would have. But that truck did weigh 5500lbs to the Rogue's 3300lbs, and it didn't have ABS, lol. So yeah, if you've never owned a set of studded snow tires, those are the drawbacks you can expect. But the major plus is that studded snow tires can't be beat when it comes to an emergency stop in snow/ice.

Took a glance around and didn't see any. Oh well. I'm in no rush since I won't need them until next winter.
