Price of having a key cut?
My dealer told me $100. I have a key that I bought off ebay too. Anyone else had one made and pay that much? I heard it was expensive. But dang a $100?

a locksmith can do it for half that.

I bought 3 keys off Ebay for $12/ea, paid $2 each to get them cut and the dealer programmed the 3 new keys for a total of $50 so I have 5 programmed keys. My dealer charges $50 but he did say some dealers will charge $100 I guess he wasn't kidding.
Frank we might have the same dealer since you live in Hatfield. I use Country Nissan in Hadley.

Today my dealer quoted me $60 to program the key chip plus the cost of the key itself . . . which he said would be either $30 or $85 . . . said my car was "so new" (bought an '09 a few days ago) that it wasn't in the computer system yet so he isn't sure which . . . This seems ridiculous! And doesn't even include the "key-fob" thingy. I just want a spare to leave with a friend in case of emergencies! I hope I didn't make a mistake buying this Versa . . . dealer is Feldmann Imports in Bloomington MN.
