Yesterday I took our POS 19 Rogue to the stealership due to the battery kicking the can at 18,937 miles. Saw a 21 Rogue Platinum and test drove it. On the window rip-off sticker, I casually saw a nice whopping $5k markup. So for a $38k appliance, dealer is now asking $43k. I only thought these stupid markups are seen on performance-orientated vehicles like the Type S for Acura, Type R for the Civic, etc. Is this even common for these common everyday appliances?

You just picked a bad time to look for a vehicle. I'm sure their lot was near-empty, ours certainly is. So list-plus is standard right now. No one is bargaining and everyone is marking up.

Interestingly, I just did a quick search on Cargurus, and found a similar identical vehicle for $2k below MSRP near Brandon, FL (Tampa area).

I'll be interested to hear what the catch is. Our new stock right now is below 100 vehicles (it's normally 450~500) and Nissan/NMAC has stopped offering corporate incentives because they can't deliver enough product to justify it. So that dealer is either desperate for some reason or there's a catch, or both.

Actually, South Florida (Royal Palm Beach, FL) has discounted similar Rogue Platinums for $1k below MSRP. A dealer in Orlando did the same (its closer to UCF though). Multiple dealers in the tampa area put between $1000 to $2000 off MSRP.

Interesting. Maybe it's because of all the Florida container ports. They may be getting cars that we can't get because of transport issues.

My old boss, who now works across the street managing the shop at BMW, would tell you BMW technical support is absolutely wonderful... and good thing, because the cars are all POS's.

Trying to save up the cash to trade the PoS for pop’s dream BMW X5. But for a beater car, Rogues aren’t that bad except the 2019 Model Year. Now that specific model year can go to hell, as its the most unreliable 2nd gen model year.
