S-15 SR20DET VTC
why dont you just buy the entire car and have it imported for just over 2 times the price of the supposedly 10,000$ SR enginehttp://

(took insurance part out cause i know i'd get beef for it some way or another)
There are other ways to make an LHD S15 using an S14 SR motoror.. lets hear it from the PROFESSIONALS if no one on this board thinks i am one...:
http://www.carpassion.com/en/f...=1413
S15 is just the same block with lower port (better compression) and better equiptment like fuel rail and turbo shell as well as VTC system
Let me list the different things between S14 and S15; differences will be underlined:
1994-1998 S14 Silvia SR20DET Specs: Note: The 94-98 S14 Silvia motors have a black valve cover that angles down towards the back, and a hump on the intake cam side on the front of the valve cover. All specs the same as S13 , except for the following changes: Turbo: Garret T25 exhaust, T3 compressor wheel. A/R 0.64 on exhaust and 0.60 on compressor. Injector size: 370cc/min, side feed. Variable valve timing system Peak hp: 220hp @ 6000 rpm Peak torque: 28.0 kg @ 4800 rpm (203 ft.lbs) The transmission is also a little stronger than the S13, and has a slightly lower gear ratio
1999 S15 Silvia SR20DET Specs: 250HP, All specs same except for following changes: Turbo: Ball bearing Garret T28 exhaust (Full scale T28 instead of half breed T25 on turbine side),T3 compressor wheel. Injector size: 480cc/min Stronger rods, improved crank bearings 6spd manual transmission The 6spd can be used on the S13 and S14 motors with no modifications, although racers and drifters in Japan swap out the factory S15 transmission and put in the S14 SR transmission. The gears are a shorter width in the 6spd so that they fit inside the housing. Because of that the gears are weaker, and they are having problems of breaking them.
Also dont forget the VTC instead of the underated 'artificial' Variable Valve Timing to bluntly make up for high port injectionAs well as the stock turbo on S14 is good only up to 13-15 psi (obviously not daily driver but if you're gonna run for slips) and the S15 is good from 15-18 psi
Here are your turbo specs between S14 and S15 Turbo specs S14:Compressor: T-28, 60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in T-04B housingTurbine: T-25, 62 trim 53.8mm 0.64 A/R turbine housing.Center Section: Ball Bearing
Turbo specs S15:Compressor: T-28, 60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in T-04B housingTurbine: Inco turbine wheel. Cast divider wall between turbine discharge and wastegate.Center Section: Ball Bearing
and finally what I think is so great about the S15 is that its peak torque and horsepower are very close together around 6000RPM... something you wouldnt get on a high port S14 SR which was a mistake covered up by VVT
damn... what else should i say ?i'll post more if i hear NE arguments and contradictions... but let me for-warn you that if you insult me in NE way i will not feel obligated to prove my point to youwhat i say is factualand for all the hard core street racers, like some of the guys i've already ran into here, all your sh*t talk and street talk wont help you be right... it'll just help you not lose face... sooner or later you'll know the truth and realize that you lied so much under the facade of not wanting to lose face that you believed yourself
im a newbie at this board because the last one went under.. but dont take me lightly, we're all here to learn, not make a reputation. Even I have more to learn but non the less of what i already know, I will stand by my word til the day i lose to a stock civic (in comparison to how much reputable popularity i might lose, if thats what everyones game is around here.)
this thread is not in relation to the disputed argument in http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....=1148this is to just clarify how cheap S15's can go for on the US market
