I met a guy at autozone today who had a 1970 510. I asked him if he was interested in selling it and he told me to make him an offer. What do you guys think a 2 door manual 510 is worth? The car is straight but definetly needs paint. Interior is pretty good, but not perfect. I don't want to offend him but I still would like to get a good deal. What should I offer him?

The true question is, what are you willing to pay for it? If it was me i would make a starting offer of about $1000 if it runs good. Offer a little lower than what you are willing to pay. The guy might just want to get rid of it. Id hate to pay $1000 for a car he would have sold for $500. Then id start looking it over for any issues. This is a 35 year old car, it will have issues. Rust is a major thing. If theres no rust through on the body then $1500 might be a good offer. It really depends on what you are willing to pay for it. I got a decent 1976 Datsun 620 for $150 just because the guy wanted it gone.
