I have a 94 without heated seats or trac control. So instead of having those 3 buttons I have like a small coil slot\tray thing. Did infiniti prewire the 94+ cars for heated seats?? meaning if i were to pull that coil tray thing up, would I find the heated seat harness plugs down there??

I recently got some heated seat buttons, next I guess I would need the seats themselves, lol

I don't know , but if it's easy, pop off the tray thing and see if the harnest is there. Who knows. The 94 was prewired for a CD player, it just might be prewired for that also.

There are harnesses for the heated seat switches. As of right now, I would not recommend trying to wire OEM switches and heated cushions. After several attempts, I got a wiring diagram from Wes, but couldn't get it to work and figured that it would be warm outside by the time I figured it out. There are two plugs comprising five wires on the OEM seat cushions. (two red, one black, one yellow, and one white.) I ended up just wiring my own switch for now, but I only got the seat back to work via the red and black wires. Has anyone ever tried this before?

I'll try again when its warm, I'll bet the wiring is a little more complicated than I expected. I'll update when its not 24 degrees outisde

There could be relays and things that need to be installed as well as the switches. I would buy an aftermarket set of seat heaters that work on 12 volts and try to adapt the factory switches to them. Seems like that would be easier. I did something very similar in a ford a few years ago with great results.

Did you ever figure this out? I've found some heated seats from a 94T.

I rigged a switch, I got the seat back to work, but the bottom never did. It was a nightmare trying to do it stock, it was called impossible by a tech...

I swapped in a pair of heated seats from a 94Qt into my 94 base. All the connections for the seat switches are under the center console and the same connections will work for the seat motors. Plug and play. No mods required.

Goody, did you replace the ENTIRE seats, or just the leather cushions? I just did the cushions. My seat cushions were ratty and I got lucky and scored some heated tan cushions. My 94's ds ps control computer under the seat was not wired for the heated seat cushion connections. I looked everywhere. As noted earlier in this thread, I got a diagram from Wes and tried to rig it up. Therefore, the ps control unit under the seat is the key to making my heated seats work like OEM!! Do you think it would be worth trying to swap my ps control pute? The heated seat switches plugged right in....

I did the entire seat, frame and all, so the seats came with the under seat computer.I'm not sure about swapping in the "t" seat computer. I'm surprised they wouldn't work without the controller. Are you getting power to the switches? Is the orange light coming on when you turn the switch on?

Yes, the switches plugged right in (it was wired for the switches) and illuminate. the orange light will only come on when I try and rig it (unsuccessfully). Someone suggested there might be a relay to make the seats actually work, but I think Ill I need is that under the seat computer box to finish the job. Currently, my seat computer does not have plug ins for the heated seat cushions. Does your pute have those specific plug ins? I only did the drivers side. I might call my parts guy to price a computer that is wired for heated seats, I might be able to get it cheap, it would be worth a shot if I can make it stock w/o any further modification....

This weekend I should be able to unbolt and unplug my seat and take a couple of pics for you.

There's a T up around here that has some heated seats. I already got the switch panel, so no one else will probably notice their heated. The seats themselves are intact, but the leater isn't so good. How difficult would it be to change the guts from those into mine. I'd love to have heated seats.

extremely easy. I can take the seat out in no longer than ten minutes. The leather cushions come right off the frame. But you need to have the heating elements in the leather. One cannot remove the leather from the pad without damaging it considerably. you might want to go with after market filaments in your current pads. But there is a thermostat in the Q seat bottom. Just get some pliers and undo the hog clips holding the leather cushions. My drivers side seat bottom is actually a passenger's side seat cushion. You can only get away with doing that to the bottom. The hard part is to find a matching color. I got lucky and got the seat and the steering wheel for under 250. Ive got plenty of tan patch leather, from my old ratty seat, if anyone needs any.

Thanks goody, Id appreciate it. As noted earlier in this thread, there are two plugs for the heated seat cushions: one for the top and one for the bottom. There are no connections for said plugs anywhere in my current setup....

plum/two tone tan, project almost complete. I am so getting a good camera!!

I was able to unbolt my driver's seat today and do some checking for you. The P/N of the seat controller installed with the heated seats is 28565-76U01. The P/N of the seat controller removed with my old seats (a base model) is 28565-67U00. There is only one electrical harness feeding the entire seat (large white plug, lower center) and it originates from the center console.

You can compare your seat controller and harnesses to the the pic but I'm going to go out on a limb and say if you're switching to heated seats you need the seat cushions with built in coils, the seat controller, and the entire electrical harness from under the seat. You should be able to install these parts onto your existing seat frame and make it work.

In the pic I believe the seat heater plug is the brown connector in the lower left. That's the only 2 wire connection I could find but there should be a second one somewhere. If my theory holds true you won't have this plug under your base Q seat.

Thanks Goody! I think all I need to finish the project is the pute and wiring harnesses. I still have the wiring diagram from Wes and I remember all of the wires in the harness were present except the wires for the heated seat cushions. They were blanks in the harness and I tried to rig them in the harness, but with no avail. Your theory is correct, but my heated seat cushion's plugs are blue, and there are two of em, one for the seat back (red/black) and a three-pronged plug for the bottom (white/yellow/red). I am about to price that pute and harness....

So if one had all the original wiring harnesses, modules and switches you could use that with aftermarket warmers.

After looking closer at those seats this weekend, they're trashed. And with Mike saying it's practically impossible to get the leather off mine then....

Maybe I should just keep my eyes open for some black leater heated seats in excellent condition.

I will ask my part guy about your black seats while I price that pute: I am inquiring right now.... Peace, JudIN the meantime, check ebay everyday, summer is a good time to find q parts.

You could probably rig up non OEM parts easier if you cant find black cushions, but I am almost there....

The part guy has spoken, and I quote, "hey there, I am sorry but I do not have any of the little switches for the heated seats...

and I do have a set of black seats, but they are non-heated...- so please let me know if your friend is interested..." [email protected]
