i got my first 240 recently. it's an 89 fb auto. i wish i couldve found a manual, but such a thing doesn't exist in my area. i love the car anyway, and it's gonna hard enough to drive it through all the snow i get without worrying about shifting gears. anyway, doesnt anyone think it'll look stupid if i try to pretty up my car? nothing too over the top. i'm just thinking about some nice white rims to match the white exterior. and inside i was thinking about going red. red racing seats, red trim on the doors and around the dash. a nice system, and a few red accents here and there.

would that be going too far for an AT stock '89 240?

Car: Not a 240 =) Thinking of getting one again...

you can do whatever you want. Most of the people here prefer performance over cosmetic but that doesnt mean that you have to follow that. If you want to make your car look pretty, go ahead :)

PS: I love white rims on white car hehe

Actually, I think driving an auto in the snow is harder than driving a manual. Too unpredictable for my foot. But then again, I've driven manual since I first learned to drive, and I have a lead foot (which=random downshifts with an auto transmission).

Whatever you do to it, make sure you post pictures--I'd like to see how it comes out. And you know you can always get insight here.

Yeah just go ahead and do whatever you want to do to your car. Just something that's been bugging me though, is that if you were a guy then there would have been comments about "oh you're such a ricer" and other bs. Personally I think the red accents might be a bit ugly, I went with black vinyl to get rid of the bloody tweed interior parts but that's cuz I'm pretty square. The white wheels on white body sounds like a good plan just don't get curb rash on em eh?

hmm, white rims on white cars do look nice... just save your old ones & i suggest buying snow tires for them <from tirerack.com, our sponsor, of course>

i've seen a white hyundai accent w/ white rims & it even made THAT car look nice... esp w/ the black tire contrast... heh

lol.. that IS true.. but i personally don't think the white rims and red accents she wants to do would make the car look ricey.. it would look just like she says-- "prettied up" which i think would look good by the way.. as long as you don't go overboard with your red accents, and stay away from those glowing neon stuff.... simple and clean looks best IMO :)

Yes, I would have to agree simple and clean looks best. Maybe I'm just thinking of the really bright red that I see all the time lol guess if you get a good shade then it's all good.

I would make sure the mechanical maintenance is up to date, then go ahead and do whatever you want. It's your car.
