I have a hesitation in the running of my car and i was wondering if it could possibly be the pressure regulator and if so where is it? what does it look like? anybody got pics?

this is what i've done so far to try get rid of hesitation (stutter) while driving my car

i've replaced:

O2 sensor (bad)distributor cap and button (old)fuel filter oil changeair cleaner change (old)all belts changed (old)gasket behind cadalitic changed and muffler replaced (bad)TPS--------------------

I'm not sure exactly how the pressure regulator works or where it is located but it could possibly be the culprite of this stutter when driving .... any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

The fuel pressure regulator may not be your problem and in fact, personally, i doubt it is. But if you are looking for it, it would be a lil gay looking metal thing at the end of the fuel rail (side closest to firewall)

ohh hmm... any ideas what it might be then?

i know that part it has a vaccuum hose coming out of the top? if so i blew my engine dry with a blower after cleaning various parts and a chunk of something flew out from between the top and bottom of that thing...

it was doing the stutter before that happened but i found that odd and i could not find the chunk that flew out of it.

but the stutter is driving me crazy

thanks for the reply

I am 100% serious when i say this but 240s only like NGK plugs, everything else seems to get a weird spark for some reason. Get some NGK sparkplugs and let us know what happens.

Yeah, nothing but NGK. Fuel pumps fail more often than pressure regulators. Hook a fuel pressure gauge up to the system and tape it to the window while you drive around.

btw... it was the EGR Valve... i took the vaccuum line off of it and put a screw in the vaccuum line and the stutter completely stopped, now I wonder if this is going to have adverse effects until i can order a new EGR?

not sure, but keep eye on temp... from reading on what it does besides emissions, it also helps to cool it down as well...

That is a good point, i've been watching the temperature gauge and it has been fine , but I did notice that the car does not start as easily as it did before and runs choppy at first them smooths out after you get it going.

OH and I forgot to mention... it only runs choppy as long as it takes me to put it in motion then immediately smooths out.

so I'm guessing that the valve is stuck open? anybody else have any suggestions?

I'm also still learning
