Are the plug connectors on this suppose to stay connected or disconnected? This is the little solnoid thingy that is hooked to the power transistor that has the vac lines connected to it. I routed my vac lines via the diagram on here that Needforspeed posted, so I don't have the vac lines hooked up to that solnoid.....but I left the electrical connector plugged into it. Is this ok, or should it be unplugged? Thanks

You can leave it plugged in if you want to it won't hurt. The purpose of it was so allow more fuel to enter the fuel rail/motor during hot starts. Basically when the motor was hot, it would reference the FPR to atmosphere in stead of the manifold. I've never seen a CA w/a hot start problem and I don't think anybody actually hooks it up.

No problem not having it hooked up. It's basically worthless. Extra Nissan ECCS bologna.

I wonder if I should disconnect it.......my hot starts are fine, but after it has sat over night, when I crank it cold, and drive right away, it will bog when I first ease on the gas.......but if I let it warm up for a few minutes it won't do it.

It's a CA thing. They all seem to do it. Standalone helps.

IDK why, but CA's just don't like the cold. Even with a standalone and a coldstart valve, it never just fires right up and idles. It never dies or anything and I can drive it right off if I wanted to (I don't), but it's just rough.

I won't comment on standalone as there are too many options and everyone is different. I can tell you that I use SDS and I don't ever regret it.

On mine......with a cold start......it will crank up and fast idle smoothly, but if I blip the throttle, it will die. Only at cold start though.

Install is the same on all of them. The ones with more options tend to be more complicated, simply because they have more options. (That is if you use all of the options)

I don't know which off of the top of my head that allow you to use the stock CAS, but any of those will greatly simplify the installation.

Most will require some sort of modification to the crank pully and building of a bracket for a sensor (SDS included).

Most require a laptop, SDS doesn't for sure, a Power FC uses a handheld controller, but if you're actually trying to alter any of the maps, it's useless, Mega Squirt is best with a laptop, but you can build a handheld controller if you want. I think the rest all need laptops.

The lack of need for a laptop was the main appeal of the SDS to me, as I didn't own one and didn't want to purchase one just to tune my motor with. I wouldn't really use it for anything else besides that.
