Hey guys I have a single cam ka24. I just recently did a headjob due to a blown headgasket. Before I took it apart it was running perfectly.

Now that I have everything back together, when I hit the gas pedal during idle it seems to choke the car up and almost wants to die. The engine also runs very rough. I have a hard time trying to get it to rev high as well.

I'm thinking it could be the tps or map but whn doing the job I did not touch those at all... I'm curious on where I could have gone wrong. Everything on the intake manifold was not touched during the head job.. Could this be due to me doing the timing wrong? I don't understand how I could have for it looks very easy and straight forward.

Any help of advise would appreciated. Thanks guys.

Your timing may very well be off, and that's what I was about to tell you. Time to get a timing light and fix it to spec. I bet that's your issue.

Thanks for the response. I have figured it out, and timing was the issue. The shaft the operates the oil pump and dizzy was improperly Placed and there was also a vacuum leak. Once again thanks!
