I am sure there are a lot of survey's out there that allow you to answer questions to see how you stack up in relation to the Presidential Candidates views. Everyone here at work has been taking a survey at http://www.presidentmatch.com/Main.jsp2?cp=main

Not to get into politics but it was a good discussion piece here at work. Post up your score, without getting too political.

I actually scored 80% in favor of Kerry before I scored 77% in favor of Bush. I guess I took the wrong survey at the wrong place and the wrong time! ha!

My score 77%, although, I am much more conservative than Bush is.

I got 49% for Kerry and 29% for Bush. (I had alot of no opinions because I'm a bit uneducated on some of less media-hyped issues)

While I'm not a big fan Dubya's religious fanatacism, I'm afraid of what legislation Kerry will try to push through congress (Free abortions for every whore who can't use a condom, YAY) and doing something ridiculous like just immediately pulling out of Iraq. I know it's not prety right now, but if we just leave and not finish the job, soldiers will have died for naught, and that ain't cool.

I have no idea how my Kerry score was that high. I really disagree with him fundamentally on all his policies, but I still think he's a good guy and good candidate, I just vote on the issues themselves.

I have no idea how the Kerry score was that high. I think he's an assclown and would never vote for him.

Probably mainly due in part with my stance on environmental and economic issues.

I pulled a 69 for Bush, and 28 for Kerry. I'm actually suprised that I agreed with Kerry on even that much, as a rule I disagree with everything the democratic party stands for...

It turns out I agree with Kerry on some of the environmental parts, one of the education things, and a few other small...pretty ambiguous issues. Perhaps thats how the staunch conservatives are actually getting ANYTHING in Kerry's favor? There's a few issues the candidates overlap on.

Let's keep the political comments out of this thread, interesting survey...

In response to some of your comments like "How was my XXXX candidate score so high?, it's because not every issue can be reduced to a five-word description. Several of those issues have deeper implications that what they appear to be on the surface, and deeper investigation of the issue actually leads you to change your previously-held position.

That survey was alot cooler before the primaries when they had ALL the candidates. Rediculous they don't even include any of the third party candidates. Just propogating the two party system we've grown so wearily acustomed to.

To add on to your analysis, because one candidate is passionate about one issue doesnt make the other candidate the polar opposite. I think that this poll does just that. You could actually not agree with either cannidate. As an example, I am further right compared to Bush on some issues. Still doesnt mean that I agree with him.bud

I am republican, but that doesnt mean I belive in everything the party spouts. I have to vote what my concious tells me is the right choice, reguardless of party.

Which way am I voting? I aint telling.

ah that's a better way to find out which candidate to vote for than Jay Leno's cheesy methods.

I like a member's southpark-learning-experience:

the choices will always be between a giant douche and a turd sandwich...but one will still have to be the winner so choose the better one anyways.

or

GO VOTE!-------------Kerry 48%Bush 46%

yup, still undecided here...

Hmm... didn't expect that one. At least not so drastically. I'm STRONGLY Non-partisan, so it was a battle of the lesser of evils for me.

Jesda's site Political Test showed me as:

Quote »You are a

Social Moderate (55% permissive)

and an...

Economic Conservative (60% permissive)

You are best described as a:

Centrist

You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness. [/quote]Fairly accurate!
