First, before pointing my finger at president Obama, I will say that public education has been a complete mess in most of the zones of Washington DC, the place where the president himself resides. So, regardless of the administration in charge, public education has been always a failure in the capital city since many administrations ago. What a shame...

Well, we have a president who is smart enough to deviate the attention in order to gain votes, he decided to help students at college level only, the reason: they vote.

What about the students at lower levels? They still ignored, completely ignored by president Obama, because they won't vote.

If we remember the former administration, with president Bush, yes, he created a big economical mess, but he indeed tried to do something in favor of the little ones, and no wonder why he tried, his wife was a teacher. President Bush, as many other presidents, observed that public education is that bad, that the students were passing the grades without learning anything.

Let give an example. The student didn't learn how to do simple mathematical operations that involve division, the teacher didn't write the low grade, but only wrote the word "progressing" in the report...what a snap!

Then, when the "No child left behind" initiative was enforced in the president Bush administration, the teachers used their class hours to prepare the children to pass the test, not to learn as they were suppose to do, but just to pass the test.

We are now in the situation where the children might pass a test without learning much.

The problem is beyond the school building, it is a social matter, where children of drunk parents of course will become aggressive, or won't pay attention to the lessons, we are observed an increase of divorced parents, and worst, the imposition of gay parents, etc.

On the other hand, many teachers have lost their interest in working hard for the benefit of society because the children are more and more problematic in each new generation. This is a never end cycle.

President Obama decided to cover the current decay of society by claiming that everybody deserves the same "rights" and by helping only the ones who might help him back with their votes, not the lower class of society but the corrupt class of society, while the rest are not important to him.

We need a president who must reform back society and education, a president who won't invent fake family values where -for example- sodomy is portrayed as one value in a family...hell don't know... We need as well a president who must return back the former educational method, where the student who can't pass the grade simply will repeat the grade until he/she passes it.

Contrary to what some dudes proclaim that not passing the grade will "hurt the student feelings", the fact of impeding a failed student to pass the grade will prepare this student to face reality since early times, and this student will know what is expect from him when he grows up. Doing the current method of writing "progressing" and making the student to pass the grade is to teach this student to lie, to think that reaching goals can be made without effort, without learning anything.

Of course, we need a man of courage as a president, not so a sneaky dude who will help only to the ones who will give him something back as exchange.

I truly don't know if Mitt Romney might try to go a step forward to the one president Bush did in favor of the school level students, but I hope that he at least to make some social reforms to improve the education of the little ones, because I still insist that the education of our children starts at home, and home means the traditional family, which goes in accord to our biological bodies as to recognize that a man must couple with a woman only, according to what nature has developed in our bodies.

Surely, president Obama enjoys a lot of support from young people, women, and homosexuals (drug addicts included), and that most of these supporters find him as "cool", however, our society has decayed so bad since he took the presidency, that we can say that today's society in the USA is a prostitute making lots of money...and if money earned that way is what you want for your children, then keep voting for president Obama...but please don't even mention that you are proud of it...it will sound nasty...

You are on the right track, but the flirts with homophobic undertones harms your missive. You would need to support some of your more inflammatory suggestions, like the one in the parenthesis, because that's just pure baseless tabloid BS without it.

As far as the "sneaky dude," you have one on both sides of the ballot. You might be able to spin a "devil you know" argument for Romney because you only have his record in Massachusetts to compare to Obama's demonstrated failure as president, but it's barely effective. As far as a "man with courage," neither of them have courage. They are both stuffed shirts pandering for your vote. Another election cycle as usual.

Given this and your apparent intention to support a man you admit to not be certain about, your finger-wagging at Obama supporters seems a bit ironic.

Blaming Obama for the decay of society is a bit much. Are you suggesting that within four years there has been a real shift in society? I mean society as all of our citizenzy. Do you truly think that people who suck only started to suck in 2008? It's the same BS every administration and it was Bush's turn to be the root of all evil last go around. It was dumb then and it's dumb now. "Everything was rosy until (insert president you don't like) took office." No it wasn't. It was messed up then too.

That is fallacious on its very face. Our society has been deteriorating for decades and the actions of a single person for four years, even a president, while contributory to some degree, is merely part of a larger societal progression. You don't like Obama, I get that. He's not a president I find praiseworthy either, but let's get real. If you want to get to the root of our problems in governance you need to look at those congressmen up on the hill who sit for decades eroding our freedoms and prosperity for their benefit.

Our government is a reflection of us. If it sucks it's because we let it suck. We let it suck because we suck.

Obama sucks.
Romney sucks.

What are we going to do about that?

No, the best presidential candidate is Joe the Plumber. He's served some time in the military. Moved to a highly populated, diverse area. Started out as a plumber in a company, worked his way up to be able to start his own company. Built his company up into a multi million dollar business.

Now, with this fictional person, they would never run. While they have all the qualifications to be able to run, they never would. Lazy.

Well themadscientist, first thing please let me apply for you and the rest of readers to accept my apology for the following long reply, but I really have nothing to do this afternoon, and I can write and write…

I state that since Obama took power our society has decayed faster because he passed laws AGAINST family values. You called my position as "homophobic" but never explained how in the world sodomy becomes a family value. Can you explain it please?

I went to the bank to pay my credit card bill and found out that new charges were added because I made other purchases, so my up to date balance was greater. I had a check ready for the lower amount and I asked to the bank cashier to deduct the amount of the check from the current balance so I can make an additional check and pay in full. The cashier, a young beautiful woman, took her pen, a piece of paper and wrote both amounts to make the subtraction. She stand still paralyzed for a few moments...I understood what was going on, and I managed to pull the paper from under the window glass, I made the subtraction, made the new check and gave her back both so she can finish the transaction.

Yes, the young woman, the cashier who everyday works with money, she just can't subtract. Surely, I can bet, she was a student who went to public schools. And a similar situation with simple addition and subtraction happened in a Lowes store, where I mentally added and subtracted amounts while the manager in charge made the same mistake twice, and in the second time he used his cell phone calculator...and the cashier laughed of him because his mistakes...

Public education in schools, is the education level for which president Obama won't give a single dime because school students can't vote.

The hoax made by Obama is to fake that he cares for equal rights in society, but he destroys what is family values in order to accomplish his goals. He passed laws enforcing gays in the army, he pretends that gays are also defending him from any enemy, and guess what, all this fuss about rights of gays in the army comes from a Hollywood movie...ha ha ha...a dumb Hollywood movie.

Rent or watch the movie IN and OUT. In this movie it is portrayed an Oscar winner who plays as a soldier who screams that he is not recognized as a hero because he is gay. This actor later said that his teacher, from whom he is proud, is gay. So the whole movie is about this teacher who is a soft person, but never gay. The pressure comes from a reporter who is gay and even kissed the teacher in the mouth, and the teacher just made the complaint, but as a soft person he didn't fight or anything. The students didn't want to change clothes in front of him anymore after sports, because the whole town thinks that this teacher is gay. But, if you analyze the behavior of this teacher, without doubt, he IS NOT GAY, because he never showed any attraction to other men, he never dressed funny as a woman, or similar, he is just a soft person, and being soft is not being gay, period.

From this movie, that is wrong all the ways, comes the idea of soldiers who are gays to be admitted openly in the army, from a movie, we have a president who is inspired by a dumb movie...and we know by fact without question, that Hollywood movies and TV series are no more than ENTERTAINMENT...Lol

Did you hear that lately some pederasts are claiming the same rights as gays? Well, just watch a TV series, I think is Law and Order or similar, where a pederast claims just that, that "they are so many, and catch so many children online to have dates" that soon they will have "power" in society to be accepted and not be considered criminals anymore...

What is the source that originated the claims and caused the news? Yes, from another Hollywood entertainment film...

I wonder if people will left religion in order to believe in Hollywood movies from now on...ha ha ha...in my opinion...-I guess not shared by you- only idiots believe in Hollywood movies and TV series, and president Obama appears to be one of those believers...perhaps this is a new religion...

Well, my point is that with a current society being so weak, public education won't work properly, period.

President Obama tries to distract even women in his favor, saying that Romney is against woman's right to choose, but the crude reality is that the government must stay aside from such an issue, this is to say, not to participate at all with such abortion. This means, no government funds and neither grants in favor of abortions, period. I have no idea why women will go against a candidate who will stop funding abortions using tax payers money...come on...

If you think that society can't be changed now because such means to get deep into a new structure, the answer is why not? We must recognize that saying that "we suck" is not enough, and changes can happen when we decide that they must happen.

Something more to add flavor to my point, president Obama is a hypocrite, because he claims that he is a defender of nature and that he supports a greener world, that he wants a better and healthier environment for the whole USA...but what about SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT? Do you know that sodomy and lesbianism are AGAINST NATURE? Did you call my point as homophobic because I want a greener social environment? Hello?

As you can see, silence is expected by many about this crude reality of social decay and public education failure, because parents are happy that their children are passing grades anyway.

But, let's return to the old method, and let’s make the failed student to repeat the grade, only then the parents will probably pay attention and start to be sure that their children are studying and doing their homework. You see, private school students have almost no time to be in the street playing around after classes, but they are mostly in front of their books and computers doing their homework. This is not observed with public school students, because neither their parents nor their teachers enforce homework, so the student can review the lessons.

We need an administration that will change the current educational system from its roots, not a president who plays as a hero helping college students to win their votes, such a political strategy must be considered illegal and must be penalized…what do you think?

President Obama hoax is a reality, he is not a good president, and definitively any other "devil" will do less harm to our society than president Obama...this is a sure fact...

Carloslebaron you are coming off quite homophobic. You also make a lot of assumptions and accusations such as your cashier "must have gone to a public education institution" because she couldn't compute a transaction. :poke:

But to address your point on what you deem Obama's fallacy, please go look up "Race to the Top." IMO it is not the best format to encourage public education improvement but it still is Obama's financial out reaching into the public education realm. :)

First of all, she was hired because she was pretty. It's marketing. You're less likely to get aggressive with an innocent female.

Second of all, you have offended me and demeaned my entire time in the military. I served with gays and lesbians, and they were professional and just as hard working (more so) than some of the straight people. I would trust them with my life. I wouldn't trust you to deliver my mail with your "family values."

Third, there has never been an abortion paid for by the government. Abortions are not covered in planned parenthood or with any subsidized government insurance.

Your religious affiliations should not be pushed onto me.

Oh, and if you've ever watched any p0rn or seen any pictures with a man and woman and there was any kind of anal play, you're a hypocrite.

You are all over the map lambasting public education and then flipping to people getting nailed in the a**. I can agree that public education is a failure in many instances, but I fail to see the correlation to anal activity unless you mean it in the Freudian sense.

Your leaps of unsupported accusation are the real crime. Making sweeping statements with zero proof to underscore them just leaves you ranting about "the gays!" In this economy your primary focus is butt sex? Grow up. Oh and by the way, regarding the pedoph:le strawman, go ask a catholic priest how little boys taste. :squint:

I don't see the attraction to dude on dude action, but it's my choice not to participate. Keep it in the privacy of your home with a consenting adult and we will be cool. I will reciprocate by not showing my "oh" face to anybody but my wife.

I'm sure there's a chance some of the people that I served with in the Corps were gay. It would not have mattered to me. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with their ability to fire a weapon or with my MOS, turn a wrench. If you have not picked up a weapon to defend this country I invite you to STFU and let that gay dude with more skin in the game do it for you and damn you, buy that man an appletini when he gets home!

What do you say Al?

Funny situation here...you still can't explain how sodomy becomes a family value.

To the ones calling me homophobic, I challenge them writing here in this thread what good comes from homosexuality...Just in case, I have a long list of how bad homosexuality is in all aspects of our lives...biological, social, religious facts...

The government has no business neither authority to impose in our society such a negative and malicious behavior. If you disagree, please provide a government link that shows the government explanation to support homosexuality, this is to say, trusted sources to include this behavior in our society to be "officially recognized as safe and worthy of being promoted" as the Obama administration is currently doing.

Let’s go to the point here, I am showing that adults who have finished their high school can't add nor subtract the basic knowledge in mathematics. We are not talking about "computation" in general, just addition and subtraction, and these adults can't perform these basic mathematical operations: PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

Is this a vicious circle where parents won't care about the failed education system because they are free of helping their children to do their homework? Is Obama exploiting this situation in his favor? I can state that president Clinton also did it, I don't see any attempt from president Clinton to do something for the little ones, and that he also favored the college students only. Is this a Democrat strategy to gain votes every four years?

And worst, many universities are lowering their standards, because the level of IQ has decreased so much, that today many universities are "accommodating" low grades students in their institutions...probably the economy is that bad that they have no other choice...

Parents and students who don't care about good education in schools might believe that they are smart because they are overcoming the challenge of learning properly, but surely they are committing intellectual suicide because they become victims of a greater wall that separates society in two classes, the learned and professional with the ignorant. This barrier is greater than the Berlin wall, and still increasing its size because no one cares about a good education for the lower class of society, and this is UNJUSTICE, a clear and factual case of discrimination...and president Obama indeed discriminates the majority of children in US.

I don't say that Romney is the savior, because I have no idea if he will do something for public education in schools. This thread is about president Obama's hoax, when he pretends to portrait himself as caring for education, but surely he only cares for himself, to gain more votes at any cost...

His method is by inciting more corruption in our current society, so he can obtain more power, and you might noticed that he is supported by Hollywood actors -who are mostly drug addicts, alcoholic, divorced several times, gays by lots, this is to say, the most corrupt group of people in our society- and no one seems to care simply because the majority of people likes movies...

Perhaps you are happy with the current decay of our society, but I completely disagree with president Obama, an individual who is corrupt and dishonest from my point of view, because he is destroying family values trying to replace them with "his" values, and we know that he has no values...just a gift of being a good orator...after that, without running his mouth, he is nothing...

Instead of showing you disagreement about my point, are you capable to explain such a family value of sodomy or lesbianism? Can you input some ideas of what kind of reform must be made to change or improve the disastrous current public education? What can we do about it...besides of saying that we suck...?

I told myself I was going to stay out of this one, it just seemed over silly, almost trollish. But I have to respond to this one portion. You're going about this from the wrong angle. Government is not to be limited in such a way that it has all authority except for what we withhold. Quite the opposite, government is to have ZERO authority, except that which we endow it with. When viewed from this perspective, you begin to understand that, in fact, government does not need authority to "allow" something. It only has to be given authority to "prohibit" something. Now you begin to frame the argument properly. Should government be given the authority to "prohibit" the activity in question here? If so, the ball is in your court to explain why this should be.

Paul Ryan’s Five Worst Bush/Cheney-Era Blunders

http://www.nationalmemo.com/paul-ryans- ... -blunders/

“There’s a reason that George W. Bush immediately supported the announcement of Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney’s running mate. Paul Ryan was a loyal Bush/Cheney vote on all of the worst of that Administration’s historic screwups.
Let’s begin with the Iraq War Resolution, which was supported by far too many members of Congress on both sides of the aisle. Ryan was a solid “Yay” for this resolution. This tragic distraction ended up costing well over $800 billion, mostly funded through emergency supplemental appropriations bills that were conveniently not included in the deficit until 2010. Simply: There is no better example of wasteful spending in the last few decades than the Iraq War. And Paul Ryan voted for it.
Euphemistically called the “Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001” and the “Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003,” the Bush Tax Breaks are the primary engines of our budget deficit. They both include the word “Reconciliation” because unlike most Senate business, they were passed by a slim majority vote in the upper house. Reconciliation was designed to make cutting the deficit and debt easier. In this case, the Bush Tax Breaks are responsible for about a trillion dollars in their first decade. These cuts, which were supposed to grow the economy, led to the worst decade of job growth since World War II. And Paul Ryan didn’t just vote for them—he’d like to make them permanent and then take millionaires like Mitt Romney’s tax rate below one percent.

It’s difficult to imagine that Medicare Part D was anything but a cynical attempt to pander to seniors who vote while adding a burden that would eventually crush Medicare. The program added a needed benefit—coverage for the cost of prescription medicine—while providing no funding it. The bill also prohibited the government from negotiating with drug makers for better rates (as we do for Veterans’ drug coverage.) Unlike the Affordable Care Act, which closes the loophole in the Medicare Part D that costs seniors up to $250 a year, Medicare Part D adds hundreds of billions to the deficit.
How did Paul Ryan vote on this bill? Aye, of course.
It’s been called “the most oppressive and discriminatory legislation of the last decade.” This bill could have criminalized anyone who provided any aide to an undocumented immigrant including those running soup kitchens. It also punished any city that sought to provide sanctuary to undocumented immigrants and took away due process of anyone suspected of being in the country illegally. The bill died in the Senate but not before Paul Ryan voted for it in the House.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyJBZYz8 ... r_embedded

“This bill offends my principles,” Paul Ryan said in speech supporting TARP in the U.S. House of Representatives. “But I’m going to vote for this bill in order to preserve my principles…” This is the kind of logic that makes Paul Ryan Paul Ryan. He’ll be a part of a system that transfers billions in wealth to the richest one percent and engages in useless wars. But when it’s time to stop an economic catastrophe he wants you to know he’s offended. TARP came after a long trial of blunders that led to the financial crisis. But it’s important to remember that the of the worst decisions of that era — from the repeal of Glass Steagall to the tax breaks that incentivized financial fraud — all bear Paul Ryan’s stamp of approval."

The two of them are are some piece of work

Return control of public education back to the states.

Sweep out all the time wasted trying to teach social issues at the expense of learning facts and figures.

Make public schools compete with private through school vouchers.

Hold parents accountable for the behavior and success of their children and make them part of the teaching team with teachers.

Decrease class size to allow more one on one time with students.

Work with students from early on to help them determine a sort of career track so they put maximum effort to their goals.

Provide more vocational programs to allow students to learn practical trades that can make them real money right out of high school.

Form partnerships with business to promote internships for students to fast track them into the workforce.

Get away from promoting the idea that you have to be a college graduate and eliminating useless degrees that don't translate to a damned thing in the real world.

No, you're right. It's f***.

Homosexuality improves acceptance. Or it should.

Biological aspects? Many animals species have been observed to be homosexual. The only biological aspect that a hetero couple has over a h0m0 couple is that they can reproduce. However, that does not mean that a hetero couple would be better parents than h0m0. Everything else is the same.

Religious fact? :bs:

I don't like the term "tolerance." It suggests that there is something wrong with whatever you are discussing and that you graciously "tolerate" it. I prefer "acceptance." It demonstrates that you are truly ok with it and do not harbor veiled hostility.

That is a great point. Going to edit my original post and make your post obsolete :P

I think either term is acceptable, as long as you mean what you say. I dont pledge full acceptance of homosexuality, I still believe that its wrong and unnatural, but I also recognize that its none of my business what two consenting adults decide to do in their own home. Therefore, I am tolerant. Tolerance does not have to suggest bridled hostility, it can simply be bridled disapproval.

This thread makes my head hurt.

Let's can the homosexuality debate. It's just not a topic we should be spending time on here. It's really not politics. It's closer to religion and that's a no-no here.
So.. let's move on.

Carlos.. I'm going to hit you from another angle.
You claim that our poor education system is the biggest problem we have. BS!!! We have a FANTASTIC education system. We have easily one of the best in the world. Last study I saw said only Iceland and Israel had higher funding levels per capita. And yet.. I'll agree that our young people are poorly educated.

So what's the problem???

Anybody want to take stab at it?

Carlos? Do you know the answer?

I'll let you give it a shot before I give away the answer.

so whats your point? animals kill their young and eat them. animals have been known for incest too. some animals sometimes cut the heads off the males after sex.
so what are you saying, that because animals do it- we can too? are we not smarter than animals? have we not evolved past the "animal" stage?

We're done with this.

Let's not debate homosexuality on NICO. It's not worth the energy. It's a topic that strikes too close to religion and not really politics. It's one that people don't debate with an open mind. So let's steer clear of it.

Oh, and to round out the tangent that I went off on to try to save this thread:

The problem with our education system is simple.. The parents in our culture suck! Our education system offers nearly unlimited opportunity for kids to learn and get a great education to prepare themselves for successful lives. The problem is that kids don't make the most of the opportunity. They are not taught the importance of their education. They simply coast through on the path of least resistance. Many don't try, don't care, don't even finish school, and then they wonder why they aren't able to escape welfare and food stamps and crappy rental properties in the inner-city.

I can start a new thread on this topic another time.. or if anyone wants to rebut my theory (Carlos).. feel free to start a new thread about our education system.
