That marble-like interior looks horrible.

No caca Sherlock! Interesting to note the dash is an early one without the airbag, but it has the later console.

The interior is nasty, but that black Sovereign is pure sex.

Love it.

I want the clock! I think it's a good cross between the all black clock in the 90-92 and the bright gold one in later years... If any of you guys who import JDM stuff run across one - please let me know!

This is a thing of beauty! I love G50 Presidents more than any luxury cars in the world.Would it be possible to buy President hood w/ grill, fenders, headlights, bumpers, trunk, tail lights and throw them in G50 Q45? and VOILA! you have LHD President!

Probably been discussed before but has anyone looked at importing a President. Preferably a long wheel base with active suspension. I don't care about the right hand drive as my British Rover is the same and it is no problem to drive. In any case if I get fired I can always deliver mail in it

Yes, there's a way to do it. CrashGordon (AJ) purchased a 95 R33 GTR about six weeks ago. We saw the car in Fort Lauderdale, then it was exported to be de-registered, then disassembled (partially) now we're waiting for the port at the Dominican Repuplic to get squared away so the damn thing can get back here for reassembly.

I haven't posted about the details until we get the car & see how the transaction goes.

If all goes well, I can post a JDM website for auctions over there, you pick out a car, contact a buyer who ships it to the US, you inspect it, if all is well you follow the steps I outlined above. The price you pay is what's listed on the auction site (what it goes throught the auction for) then add $5000-$7000 for shipping, de-reg, disassembly & reassembly costs. Then you get a title, (FLA or other) & registration.

I'll keep you posted on the details of our transaction.

I remember seeing a G50 President Long (as it's described on the auction site for the lwb) go through for 20+k, then add the reg fees, etc.

How was he able to import a GTR?

Only motorX can import them and title them legally, as far as I Know.

There is a huge ongoing debate on other forums about this

It would be great if we can see President in US.I have checked US DOT site and didn't see President in lists of cars that are eligible to be imported through registered importers. I'm sure you can't register the vehicle under the name Nissan President, then how do you get the registration & title? If achieved, you'll be our hero!

I do not want to get dragged into the Motorex, RBMotoring, etc etc debocle.

I didn't want to post about this until the R33 is titled & registered.

I/we have assembled one car that he has done this with so far. The owner is local & has a valid title & registration.

I also spoke with the importer directly & he has had no negative issues with the "information broker" we're using.

How he does it, I don't know, but for the time being, it's working, and the title & registration will read Nissan Skyline.

We don't have ours yet, so I'm not posting any particulars yet until we do.
