I have already had a few offers for stuff regarding my AC (compressor and so on)... I need to konw whats the best way to keep these parts in good shape..

I read somewhere that once the system is evacuated, you need to cap it off so moisture doesnt get in there, as the oil attracts it.. However, when you take the stuff out, you need to flush it out good, and I heard you can use mineral spirits to clean all the old stuff out....

So basically, I just need to discharge the system, and then cap it off when I take pieces out, and clean them good with mineral spirits??

Just cap them off and send them, the installer will want to flush them just prior to reinstallation.

I like using alcohol to flush the system, it evaporates pretty quick.

The thing is, id like to gut everything, so they may sit for a long time "capped"... id like for them to be as clean as possible, so minimal cleaning is required..

I think the risk of corrosion on the clean parts vs the risk of gumminess on dirty but lubed would be about a wash.
