prerunner stuff is typically for 2wds. you might look into Total Chaos. They may make longer halfshafts and a longer arm front suspension....

Rancho just offers the standard 2.5-3" lift like everyone else

That Total Chaos long arm stuff sounds great, but I have thrashed the stock IFS, and it can eat up some whoopty-doos pretty good. I'm not saying it is the best, but if you got good shocks and other parts it can be pushed kind of hard.

I haven't broken anything on mine so far (partly owing to my decent driving skills), and it took the bumps better than I thought it would, but the stock shocks are now hit, and I want some new monotubes post-haste.

If I ever get the chance to retire my truck to a weekend toy, I will be thrashing it again. I can't afford to break it right now.

4lo feels like a rally car cause you gotta shift the gears so fast, 5th only hits 47mph with 31x10.5's, but that also is hard the transmission, and I would expect it to blow up smashing through the gears on the regular (the countershaft bearing is known to fail, causing catasrophic damage to the case). I think I might have taken a few hundred miles off of mine, so I might overhaul it someday before anything really bad happens, it is known to happen on these.

OP, have you reached the limits of the stock IFS?

Oh yeah, one more thing; the stock bump stops are bolted on, but the rubber is only bonded to the plate with glue or something, so thrashing around and "bumping" them will eventually seperate them, especially if they are rusty, and they will fall off. I have thru-bolts on mine so they would have to disintigrate to fall off.

yeah, i have drivin my truck to pretty hard and the stock does do really good, just like the looks and stance of a prerunner and thought it would be a little easier on my truck.

I was thinking, would a 2wd kit work and just get or extend the cv shafts, or am i forgetting some other stuff?

I went to the Total Chaos webisite and I didn't see anything for 4wd Nissan's, only 2wd. There was something for 4wd Toyota's. Do they have multiple websites?

Anyways, the 2wd kit says that the 3 inch extension gives 11 inches of travel, which is double stock, that sounds pretty cool.

I don't know if the 2wd kit would work with a 4wd, Desert Rat might know.

There's plenty of stuff out there for a D22 and the chassis are basically the same so something like this http://www.offroadwarehouse.co...37421 can probably be made to fit with minimal work.
