Right Now In in the process of switching my lower harness onto my RB. 90% done and when I'm done I'm gonna do a write up. one question though... I got the KA24E Trans and the speed sensor is so different than the RB. Is the KA24E and De different? I am guessing use the VSS from the RB and plug in the harness. The harness is too short and won't reach cuz the stock KA SS has about a foot and a half long harness directly coming out of it. Should I just extend the wires? If I do what to what colors.... Tell me if its a good idea to do a write up on this baby cuz this is the only thing I need answered.

Compared long SS with a short connector - RBshort SS with long *** harness - KA

ah the RB25 speed issue, I know it well.

The sendors are not interchangeable, between the 25 and the KAE or DEThe RB20 is the one that is interchangeable with the KA. (those guys have it good, but we have more displacement)

So here is what you do, cut the cord off the KA one and use it to extend the one for the RB. (or at least that is what I did)

Now your speed is going to be wrong if you are using the KA cluster, so you have choices.

1. You can buy a recalibrated one from lsauto.com for $100

2. You can actually mod the speedo yourself, although I never found a clear how too from anyone.

3. Or here is what I did:

Using my rev speed meter I realized that I could adjust the speedo to where the KPHwas the actual MPH that I was going. So I ordered a set of the blue gauge face replacements for a S13 silvia, since they are in KPH. I used it to replace my gauge face, and now I have a 180MPH speedo. Cost me about $20, and I know it is at least accurate up to 70 (compared to another car driving next to me)

Good luck. it gets even more fun when you get to the tach. lsauto also sells those calibrated for a 6 cyl, so you might try that route.

Thanks nismo thats just exactly what I needed to know. I was planning on using the stock cluster with the LS gauges, even though I do have a R33 gauge cluster thats says 7,6xxKm on it.

Now I get to extend the wires and I should be done. Do you think its necessary to do a write up on it? I have all the pix already nice and clear and its 90% done. Thanks again-Alex

Considering many people have asked this question, it would probably help others if you did. Always good to give a little back.

Congrats on your swap progress. Get ready to need some new tires

Since you don't need your speedo sensor... would you be interested in selling it? I couldn't get the one out of my old motor due to a stripped bolt and I didn't want to ruin it for the guy I sold it to... I bought one... ended up with an S14 one... and no I'm speedoless... if you could I'd appreciate it!

which one do you need? I'm using my rb25det one but I do have the KA SS. That should be the same as a rb20. Let me know and we can work a cheap price out-Alex
