I am cleaning the engine bay for the install. I am planning to paint the bay before the motor goes in, so I need to know if there is anything unecessary in this pic that I can get rid of. I have removed the coolant resevoir, all brackets, KA harness. I am not planning to put AC back in, so the AC lines are coming out. It might be simplar to list the items I should keep. i.e. wiper motor, slave/master cylinder, hard lines, wiper fluid resevoir, power steering items, etc. Thanks!

Are the fuse-boxes gonna be used on the SR? I dont see them in any pics of SRs after the installs. Also, what are the two round horn-looking things at the bottom of this pic? They dont look familiar, and dont seem to serve an obvious purpose.

Unless you're getting a front clip, there are a lot of things you need to keep. The things I kept for my SR install are:- coolant resevoir, lower KA engine harness, power steering items, wiper fluid stuff, and leave the clutch line and master cylinder alone.

if i misunderstood you and you're just taking these things out to paint, then have at it. btw, you answered your question about those two "horn things". those are your HORN.

looks like your gonna need everything in there...you wont need the AC lines if you dont plan on going no AC. And you definitely need the fuse box lol..

I only ask because I have looked at hundreds of sr pics, and none of them have coolant resevoir tanks(at least in the old location), fuse-boxes(in old locations), and most seem to have a very clean looking engine bay. I figured those pieces were the horn, but couldnt figure out why there were two. Oh well...stupid me.

Might as well take out the power steering reservoir out, it looks like it's 89 or 90. If you are wanting to keep ps start searching the junk yard for new lines. Looks like you already removed the egr crap, that ugly block box on the driver side

Just flat black under the hood. Probably wont paint the exterior for a while, but at least black goes with everything and doesnt look retarded like a red engine bay on a blue car. (or any color car for that matter!)

looks clean, you'll also want to take out the ps lines, unless you bend them to reach the opposite side of the engine back (drivers side) they're usless, you should do the right thing and get ones from a dohc ka, thats what i did.
