I was just wondering if anyone has tried boring out either the rb20 or rb25? if so how big could you theoretically go if you wanted to get somewhere around 450rwhp? I know I can get that number pretty easily without boring, but what would be the good and bad about doing it? just somethin to think about.

oh yeah, I realize this may have already been discussed elsewhere, but since this thread is jacked anyway, thought Id ask.

Ya, I do actually. Im doing most of the work myself along with my good friend. I dont trust any shop in St. L at all besides http://www.advantagemts.com. There also helping in the swap. I'm doing most of the work. They got me the clip fast and they know the right people out in Cali to get em from. If you heard roomers of the swap being able to be done with out the kit, you might as well give your car and motor away. Call the guys at http://www.supertunermotorsports.com ask for Patrick (super cool guy) and tell him John from St. Louis told you to call about info. He can also answer any questions you have. Kevy8up, if you want the right man to do the swap email me. [email protected]

School is running? Im confused on what your saying. The swap fits without the kit but only two of the four transmisson mounts line up. You'll have to do modifying of the hood and the motor will sit forward in the engine bay. The kit does not only give you new mounts to where all the mounts holes line up perfect but spacers to for the transmission to keep it aff the underbady of the car. If you notice that the rb transmission is a lot bigger than the ka transmission youll need the spacers to keep the transmission off the underbody. Using the mount kit will also allow a better angle for the drive shaft and it wont be put in a harsh state with the angle of the transmission pointing more to the ground vs. toward the diff. Dont get me wrong, you can do the swap without the kit but its extremely dangerous to drive. If you going to do this swap you should do it right to ensure lots of hours driving without problems.

does that kit from supertunermotorsports come with a driveshaft or do you have to get one from somewhere else?

No. They dont have a drive shaft available. You can buy one from http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com for about 5-600 dollars. Or get a hold of the Sept. 2003 Sport Compact Car mag and they tell you how to use the stock 240 drive shaft and the skyline transmission yoke. If you dont have a skyline yoke the Twinturbo 300zx's will work.
