Ive done my research using this site and others, and I must say I do believe I am on the right track. I started out with an assembled CA18DET head/block, all accessories, starter, ignition, ecu.. But no wiring harness, transmission, etc... It has a 3-angle valve job (could be 5) I do believe, and a spun bearing lol.I got it for a good price though.

Well I decided to get a mild-build on my CA right off the bat, I do have a budget, its getting smaller by the day but almost everything is bought. I don't want to be and wont be cheap, if I run out of funding, the project is on hold...But I refuse to spend $400 on a blow-off valve made by Greddy when a OBX one is fine for my tastes, thats how my budget is. Smartly-Cheap.

Heres what I have purchased for my CA18DET so far:Used T25GTurbo Rebuild KitStainless Race Manifold/Elbow/DownpipeMegan Racing Universal FPRDecent Ebay FMIC w/ PipingDSM 450CC InjectorsType-S BOV & TubeLaptop (for tuning)Faze Electric Oil Pressure GaugeInjen K&N FilterPiston RingsMain/Rod BearingsWalbro 255LPH PumpFull Nissan OEM Gasktet Set

Heres What I have left:Megasquirt-I 3.0Autronic CAS DiskInnovate Wideband SensorHead/Rob StudsVarious Misc StufTurbo PlumbingI'm sure theres more...

What I was wondering is how much boost can the T25G take reliably on the CA18DET? I've read some numbers from 14-20lbs, I'm thinking if the front mount is decent I could run 16-18lbs right? or no? Please help me out there.

Also on my T25G maxed with open downpipe and my listed mods, could I get a general guesstimated aim at my WHP? I'm shooting for 220-250whp. I'll be upgrading to a GT2860RS aiming for 280whp on stock internals and that leaving me done for a while but thats probably going to be next season.

My next question is to the megasquirt people, is the autronic disc the only way to go with the factory COP system? Is MS-1 3.0 going to be good for that setup? Where did you get the disc for a decent price?

I'm sure i've bought more than that and will have more mods from my well built KA24E N/A that I could possbily transfer over (or sell for CA parts).. What do you all think? I would really like some good feedback from some of the CA gurus, I dont want to mess this up.

i would say 13 psi tops on the t25g, its not that much better than the t25 ca18, but its less prone to exploding. Thats in my opinion mind you. U could get 220 whp out of that with a front mount and a decent tune. With those injectors and a t28bb turbo, you could see 280 to the wheels with a front mount. GURUS FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME

1 bar on the t25g sounds like a good bet, but any more and youll be pushing those injectors. at this point, a front mount is a front mount and you wont have to worry about how efficient it is. you could probably run a tube across the front of the car and it would be as good as or bettr than the stock smic (aka garbage). 220-230whp should be within your grasp but itll be the edge of your setup. mind you with proper tuning youll have no problem running it there all day, as its not really the most hardcore of "edges." when you upgrade to that gt28rs, youll want to throw some slightly larger injectors on there too just so you arent running the dsm ones too hard. something in the 550cc/min range should do it. the gt28rs is a pretty good turbo, you could probably do 300whp alright if you tuned it well.

im not exactly a megasquirt guru by any stretch of the phrase, but as far as ive heard, youll need the autronic trigger disk and four of the high current ignition coil drivers. the rigger disks are cheap, just google search them and you should be able to find them. they have a website, but i do not have it on hand. im running my ms2 with edis4 for the sake of me being lazy and my distaste for the stock ca hardware. you can always go that route, and if you do there is a good writeup on here (click sticky at the top: faq's and writeups) that should have you covered.

oh, and welcome to nico!

I hope to get my hand on some high-impedance 500-800cc injectors in the future. I got the DSM ones for a bargain and they serve there purpose now. Thanks for the welcome also.

All your help is greatly appreciated, i realized earlier I know like really nothing about this engine. Its got me a little nervous. I mean I can pul my KA apart blindfolded and I can use those skills to a point, but yikes.I'll manage though, just need to be extra careful.

My worry about the Ford EDIS system is that it at least appeared to be a lot of work. Maybe I am wrong but having pulleys press fit sounds expensive and I really distrust my machine shops around here as it is. It could be simpler, I think I need to look into it more.

I only have like $100 right now in my budget and I need $800-$1k more (about a month). But what im trying to do now is begin the rebuild and build and buy the parts i'll need first. In other words bearings before megasquirt and stuff like that.

One thing I'm happy about going with megasquirt is no more MAF.. I have a personal hatred for MAF, I dont know why though I just do.

If my job paid ALOT better, I'd throw some ~9:1 CR pistons in, upgraded rods, rod bolts, head stud, MLS, top mount manifold and i believe its a GT3076RS?, something capable of 4xx WHP..

Oh I know the KA clutch is interchangeable with the CA.. are flywheels too or not? I'm thinking its a big NO
