Which Costco are you shopping at? So a case of 24 costs you $2.40!!! Dude, it's $7 a case here, plus a 5 cent recylce fee for EACH can! Highway robbery if you ask me

Thats cause we don't buy 15+ gallons of water at a time.

And yeah, use premium. If you wanted to use regular all the time just to skimp on 0.20c per gallon you should have gotten a 2.5.

I can get 28mpg on my 3.5 and its only just reached 1200mi putting regular in it will not only lower performance but lower gas mileage. That shell V-power 93 is clean too!

that's true, but there is people that will buy the same amount of water/pepsi during the time you use up your fuel.

In 2002 Nissan required the 3.5 SE to have premium fuel. It specifically states so in the manual. When Honda came out with the Accord with 240 HP that ran on regular fuel at around the same time, Nissan rewrote the manual in the 2003 SE and stated that regular is fine to use, but, you may notice increased performance with premium. I called Nissan to find out what the deal was on this crap. They told me that the computer had been adjusted such that regular was OK. They specifically told me that it was NOT OK in my car. I have always run premium, but, I have a funny suspicion it would do just fine on regular. This could be the reason that the 02 was always the fastest:)/www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/rt2105.shtml

PS Mike Karesh recommended this sight to me and spoke very highly of it.

Uh oh willy joined the forums you guys are in trouble now

On a side note Nissan totally underrated the VQ for the Altimas in 2002. Both the Accord and Altima had 240hp but the Altima left the the accord in the dust everytime.

5.9 sec for a 0-60mph? I think that article is exagerated.

edmunds and other websites gave it around 6.3 sec with a manual transmission.

That was a girl with one leg driving for Edmunds:)

I actually watched the show....I was impressed. And one of the other mags that tested it said it was the fastest fwd car they had ever tested..Do not recall with one. I strongly doubt Nissan really did anything to increase the hp over the next few years.......other than re-publish the statistics. I think the origional motor had all the power from the start

The VQ can be tweaked in many different ways to produce more power. One way is changing the variable valve timing on the exhaust side of the valvetrain, allowing the engine to redline higher. Through ECU programming, different pistons, camshaft rods, etc. A perfect example was the 350Z in the current model year, which bumped up about 15-20 HP if you take into account the newly adopted output calculations for HP.
