You could go with middle grade as well. If you go with lower octane like regular you can cause the engine to "ping" Basically, you'll alter the timing slightly with a low grade fuel which will reduce the performance of the car. You could also build up carbon faster on the valves so I'd stick with atleast "plus" gasoline. Come on dude, would you put regular in your Vette?? I think not! Hey, make sure to send me pics of the wing if you get it!

Putting premium fuel in a 2.5 is a waste of money. The QR25DE does not have a high enough compression ratio to call for using a premium fuel, and if you put premium it it, you would just be wasting money. Stick with regular 87.

I seem to do best with shell gasoline. 87 octane in my 2.5 sedan. Seems to have a little more power than it does from the lesser known companies. Probably a little more of some cleaning additives. When I had a 3.5, I would always put premium in it. 87 and 89 would cause the engine to knock slightly and result in a slightly rough idle.
