HI all,

I been seriously thinking about the Greddy turbo kit. Aftering doing some researches..most ppl here suggest rebuildinh reengine from scratch would be a good idea before turboing...esp on running higher psi..

My KA has 95000 miles on it. ..how much am I looking at to rebuild it..and change the pistons/polished heads stuff like that to prepare for turbo? i assume u guys do it in a shop..I am from CA(bay area) so y'll know any good shops do good work with good price, let me know.Thanks

ur prolly looking at $3000-4000 easy to get a built engine and p&p head. with 95,000mi tho i could only see doing that if ur looking for more than 10psi as long as ur compression is good.

how much boost are you planning to run?depending on how much boost you plan to run, you might be ok with the stock internals and such as long as theyre in good shape. do a compression test and see.

That is very ambiguous information. How good a compression is acceptable. What is your fuel management? What is your timing management? We've worked over all these things, use the search function.

$3000-$4000 for a built block? Nah. Pistons (at least the Ross' I got) are about $500, and machine work is $500. (that includes balancing, boring, cleaining, o-ringing, and assembling). I figure stock rods are going to be just fine as I dont plan on reving to 9000, and while the P+P might cost a little more, I doubt its gonna be that much to add up to 3 or 4 grand.

thats all machine work is with assmeble damni thought stock rebuilds were like $2500. maybe thats if they have to pull the engine and put it back in
