Much ado about nothing.

My secretary's son is in/near Baghdad. My old college roommate runs an EOD shop in an undisclosed location. BOTH have said they were told that if anyone shows disrespect (turning their back to the Senator, disparaging remarks, smartass comments), discipline would ensue.

Interesting that they'd even have to say something.

Even more interesting is we hear of no such thing happening with GWB when he is in proximity to active-duty troops.

When there are celebrities onboard the ship, my department isn't allowed to go near them. We are kept busy or detained. They don't like to let us see them because we're so neurotic or short tempered that they think we're going to do or say something to ruin the "Navy Image" so, it's just a PC thing. But, most of us find ways to get around it.

I had a casualty going on, and I had to run to the other plant across the mess decks, and there was a meet and greet with Chuck Norris. I actually had to push my way through the throng to get to the other plant and excuse myself around Chuck. Radioactive Spill > Chuck Norris *shrug* I was carrying 3 different RADIACs at the time and was hauling quite a bit of ***, so, I couldn't exactly be nice. I was very curt, and probably a little terse. I suppose I should've been a little bit more suave, it *WAS* Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris could have contained the radioactive spill in his lower lip and spit it into an al-Qaeda bunker from the conning tower.

McGyver could have built a containment dome with a paper clip, a rubber band and a penny.

Almost.

Cave painting was invented by a prehistoric Liberal as an excuse to avoid hunting.

On a personal note, I want to thank you guys for providing me with both some laughs and the idea that humorous banter can exist between people who don't agree politically. Far too often these things get bitter and hostile. Thanks!

just remember, as an a-rab. i hate you and everything you stand for. i also hate your freedom and your starbucks. dont get confused by my remarks on this board. its all part of a crafty plan of deception. ive infiltrated the americans and have gained their trust...BWAHAHAHAHAAHA

on a more serious? note, its nice to see people like RN and AZ sitting down and chortling.

also, as Gus Pourtokalis (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), would say, "My people were writing philosophy while yours were still swinging from trees."

Just sayin.

Don't let him fool you. Helio is a Capitalist. Capitalism is a growing religion. It's spreading throughout the free world, and now it's infecting the former USSR, China, India, and every other country you can name. There is only one cure for Capitalism and I have it. You need to send me all your dollars, and other worldly goods, and I will exorcise the capitalist devil from you.

Helio, I will provide my address for your convenience in shipping Lola to me, and I will issue a framed, 8 1/2 x 11 parchment certificate to you proving you have been cured of Capitalism.

Anyone else needing cured of capitalism, please don't hesitate to ask for the same help.

Bob, that's the best application of Capitalism I've seen in weeks. May your venture thrive.
