I replaced my stock y-pipe with racinglines y-pipe and my stock one has just been laying around, so i decided to take it to a scrap metal company and they said the catalytic converter on the y-pipe was a pre cat because of its size not its "location". It doesnt make sense to me why it would be a pre-cat. Has anyone brought their y-pipe in and got secondary cat price? anything helps!

A pre-cat is located ahead of the catalytic converter in the exhaust system, which reduces unburnt fuel and helps the main catalytic converters reduce emissions more effectively and last longer.

If Im not mistaken, our cars actually have 3 cats, the one in the Y-Pipe being the 3rd.
