Prayers and thoughts for my niece in surgery

NICO,My niece goes in for surgery this morning. Her spinal cord is tethered. There is a tendon attached to the base of the cord and must be detached before she does much more growing. If it isn't detached, it would continue to pull on the spinal cord and cause problems in her feet and legs, possibly even paralysis. Chloe will turn 2 years old in January. She’s a tough little girl who’s had a lot of problems in her short life so far. Any prayers or good thoughts you could send her way would be much appreciated.Here’s a picture of her.Her surgery begins @10:30 this morning. I’ll update when her surgery is over, and again on Monday when I get back to work Monday.

I just spoke to my mom who is sitting at home with my nephew while sis and bro-in-law are at the hospital.Everything went as planned. She'll have to stay flat on her back for the next 36 hours, which will be difficult- she loves to squirm about. She's doped on morphine for now.If all goes according to plan, she should return home sometime on Sunday.Thanks NICO for your thoughts and prayers.I'll update again once she's home.

From my sister (and echoed by me- thanks NICO!):please forward my HUGE THANKS to all who kept Chloe (and our family) in their thoughts and prayers. I SO SO SO appreciate it.

Just an update.. It seems that our little Chloe has become a bit taken with this "waited on hand and foot" lifestyle. Now that she's allowed to sit up, it seems she'd rather just lay back in her wagon, get pulled around, be entertained, and given a new juice or milk to drink whenever she throws the other one on the floor. HMMM. We'll have to see how that plays out.

I visited yesterday and she seemed pretty content to rest, which is really good for now. She's obviously a bit weak, not able to walk right now, but she is crawling again. She should be back to running all over the place pretty soon.
