My 82 year old grandmother was attacked in her house last night/early this morning, beaten, cut, and left for dead. Me grandfather is deaf, so he didn't find her until he woke up this morning. The phone lines were cut going into the house. This focker left her to die in a pool of blood in their basement. She is in surgery at the moment to repair her throat where it was cut. As of right now, the only thing missing is her purse. So senselss. I went to their house to pick up some medication for my grandfather...there was so much blood, I don't know how she's still alive. Please send good vibes, say a prayer, or whatever you're comfortable with. I'm sorry for the rambling, but I haven't talked to anyone but family about it; and needed to let go of a little rage. I'll post updates as I can.

OMFG.... that's horrible. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of human being would be capable of doing that. I wish the best for your Grandmother and your family.

I hope that bastard gets what's coming to him too...

Thank you all for the warm wishes, they are greatly appreciated.Grandma is out of surgery, and reccovering in ICU. Damage total to this point: black eye, broken thumb, broken ribs, cut throat, multiple more cuts, bruises, etc. She is on a ventilator for the time being due to the throat trama. Here is what we've been able to piece together so far. There are a couple of kids that live next door (around 14 and 17) with their grandparents. My grandmother, being the good soul that she is, befriended these people - sent food over, listened to the kids' problems (abandoned by parents), just being a nice person. One of the boys came over (identified by my grandma) between 11:30 thursday night and 7:30 Friday morning. Somehow he got her in the basement, and proceeded to beat her with a snow shovel. The police detained my grandfather (83, deaf, and walks with a cane) until 2:00 Friday afternoon - gave him a polygraph and everything. The police have questioned the neighbors, and are checking alibis. I know it was someone young because there were too many other things that could have been taken, but weren't. The credit card company has verified that purchases were made on my grandma's card today, but won't release a list of the businesses or addresses to anyone but my grandma and the police.

Man thats so sad. I hope and pray she makes a full recovery. As far as the person who did this they must be some real low life scum to do this. May they get what they deserve.

i dont pray, but i do hope that those responsible will be held accountable for this heinous, senseless, violent crime. And i do hope you grandmother recovers. I can sorta empathize, my aunt was a hit & run victim 3 christmas' ago and passed away; although the cops said it was a homocide, there were no suspects.

I said a prayer for her and your family. I pray she makes a full recovery, and it does not effect her too much.

Anyway, let the police do their job. Try to stay out of it if possible. Now that, that was said.... I can say 100% truthfully, if anyone every did anything like that to my family, I would serve justice myself. Even thou it is not the right thing to do.

Even though I dont believe in god, I asked it to help you get through this. I am truly sorry and feel for you.

With everything wrong in the world, even the happy land of NICO is affected by tragedy.

May the mistaken kid be killed, so that his sick *** never does anything like this again. Just my opinion. Shiii I would try to do it myself.

Scott-

That is some real hard core life experience to be going through. I will put in a prayer or two for your grandma.

Sounds like the person/persons who are responsible are going to be caught. I hope that they are and get what is coming to them. Crime against old people has to be the lowest.

That is horrible to hear, over a purse. If they would have knocked on my door, I would have just given it to them. That is unacceptable to do that to senior citizen, or any one for that matter.

The suspect has been taken into custody. I was on the phone numerous times this morning with the detective in charge of the case, sharing information. The ignorant a$$ used my grandma's credit card a few times yesterday. The police were able to track his movements, and eventually get him on tape using the card. They evidently went to question him again, and found that he had her ID, credit cards, and check book on his person. I'm glad he was a total dumb ****. According to the detective the guy will be charged with assult 1 (same sentence as attempted murder, but easier to prove), robbery, breaking and entering, and whatever else can be applied. It was the older of the two boys that committed the crime, so we have an excellent chance of getting him charged as an adult. Myself and my family appreciate all the love. Grandma is doing well. Thank you all.

I believe 16 or 17; so there is a greater chance, hopefully, of getting him charged as an adult. I will do everything possible to make sure of that!
