Hey, these are some videos from March 3rd at drift fury. It was my fourth time drifting. The car has some tokiko blues w/ eibach springs, spl inner and out tie rods, spl tension rods and spl rucas, an aem intake and a test pipe. The car still has the stock open diff. Excuse the quality, my dad was filming and it was cold and windy.

I would like your guys input. I still have a lot to learn especially transitions.

any how here are links to the vidoes

you got skills bro ! i dont really drift but i want to get into it! in my opinion you did a good job, pretty good steering and car controll, just that last corner kept getting you to fall out of drift, or oversteer! keep up the good work!

Thanks man I apreciate the comments! I think the reason I had trouble on that last turn was cuz of my open diff the car just wanted to straighten out.

not bad at all!...good job for an open diff.....either keeping as much speed as you can or welding your diff will definately help you transitions.good work

Thanks for the comments guys I realy appreciate it! It does seem that my major limiting factor is my open diff. Hopefully I will have saved enough money for a two way some time around may.

@neverlift every one is always surprised when they find out my dad supports me drifting. My parents are realy supportive in what ever I do.

awesome man with everything ive read it would make it quite easier for you to drift with a 2 way but you did a good job and how old are you anyway but having your parents support you in anyway is a cool thing no matter what the age

speaking of differentials, what would be a better differential for my 1993 (s13) 240sx hatchback that is both my daily and my drifter? im currently running an open differential, and i've looked around for differentials and it looks like i've narrowed it down to.. (please tell me if my understanding is correct, and feel free to flame or correct any of my mistakes!)

0. open differential 1. 1 way lsd 2. 1.5 way lsd 3. 2 way lsd 4. viscous lsd5. lsd's from other vehicles that bolt on to my usdm s13 hatchback

which is the best for my usdm 1993 (s13) 240sx if im using it as both a daily driver and a driftcar? (this obviously rules out open diff and 2way) and... where are a few cheap places i can find new/used differentials??

Have you tried searching?

For daily and drift you would probly want a 1.5 way. Look at nico sponsors or ebay or in the nissan parts for sale section.

But please stay on topic or make your own post but always search the forums before making one.

thanks buddy, i'm leaning towards the KAAZ 1.5way lsd. safe, sporty, and definitely better for drifting than that open diff..

thats a good thing keeps you straight, and off the streets where when out of control you would have much less overall control... if that didnt make sense oh well....

not trying to press you any way about your diff choice, but have you given a welded diff any thought? from my understanding it has great predictability(non stop lock), unlike other lsd's.

oh i've thought about welding my differential, and i've come to see that despite the fact that it's the most ghetto upgrade you can possible do, it still works. Sadly, that only holds true until the welds break..

Unless you have money for tires all the time, i would not suggest a welded diff. Especially for a daily driver. If your on a budget a viscous would be ok to get you sideways. You did really good for an open diff, a 1.5 or 2 cost alot but if your serious about the sport then thats the way to go. They last a long time, and if you wreck you can always keep the diff for your next ride. so in my opinion its a good long term investment.
