Good morning. I found a shop familiar with our cars and with experience replacing the cats, so I went ahead and ordered the PPE headers. I can’t wait! Also, PPE said there is a way to get to the headers without removing the engine. As I get more info on that I’ll share.

I did mine without removing the engine; I just removed both motor mounts and jacked the engine left to right to work on it. Its tight but doable

Good to know. Hopefully the shop I’m using will know how to do the same and save me a few bucks on labor.

Ken, Do you know if the flanges on the new headers are the same as OEM?

I am trying to get a new Y-Pipe made and the problem is the flanges.

Based on the 2 or 3 others that have installed them already - they are the same. It could be a good idea to go with a V-Band flange instead of re-using the flange (which are impossible to find btw).

Sorry for the late reply, but I just got my full PPE system in. I plan on installing it myself with some friends, but this does sound pretty daunting with my lack of experience. Would you recommend putting the catback exhaust on now, then having a shop install the headers later? I do not have UpRev either, so I can't tune afterwards yet.

Yeah that sounds like a solid plan. [email protected] get with me for the Uprev tuning afterwards!
