powertrix coils making noise, help!!!

I have powertrix race coils on my 91 2+2. I have what sounds like a clunking noise coming from the rear coils (to discribed this noise better, it sounds like the noise when tiping on an iPhone or switching songs on an iPod) The noise is heard better when driving slowly over very uneven pavement, or when reversing. 2day I reversed over some f*cked up pavement and the noise was such that people walking by turned to look over. I only heard the noise coming from the front passenger strut one time, but now is only coming from the rears. it seems like the noise happens when the coils are in compression.

Has anyone had this problem here? if so, how did you guys fixed it?

I have not contact powertrix about this yet, I'm trying to fix the issue my self first. I believe powertix is a great product and Charles is a very pleasant person to deal with.

Are you sure its the struts? I am not a suspension guru but I would first check bushings cause since its not a constant noise it could just be a F'ed up bushing causing the occasional clunk sound. Then look into the struts being an issue also did you buy them new or used? Did you install them yourself?

Maybe some other guys that are running powertrix will speak up. I am going to move this topic to the Z32 tech section.

The coils were bought new from a group buy. I follow the directions sent along with the coils. I spoke with Charles 2day and he gave me some tips on what to check. The struts were mounted correctly since I had them checked afterwards by a shop. The noise comes when the suspension is in compression,I know this since I can hear the noise even when I open the door I hear the noise.
