the steering is not more precise, but in most cases it transmits a lot more road feel.
i took mine out in my mustang but i didnt just leave the power steering rack, i put a manual in there. i saved over 50lbs. by taking out the rack, lines and pump though.
driving around a car with a power steering rack without a pump is just a pain in the ***. but its a cheap way to gain maybe 5hp. the pwoer steering pump doesnt take much power to run in a straight line since it really isnt doing much.
