I have a 1989 240sx with a KA24de dohc motor swapped into it. Shortly after the engine swap from sohc to dohc the power steering pump began to go out and it locked up after the power steering fluid turned black. Now I am on my 4th pump and the same thing is happening again. Any ideas what is causing my pumps to lock up? Any information would be appreciated.

What fluid are you using?

You should be using automatic transmission fluid, rather than standard off the shelf power steering fluid.
