A violation of licensing agreement for anyone to actually respond to you in this request - i.e. to send you a copy of Microsoft Powerpoint! :(

Openoffice is capable of reading Powerpoint files, but I do not know if it can save it in that format.

yes open office will work. You must save the file as a MS power point file though

Ah! I read the second post further. You could create your report in Word (assuming you have that) and read it into Powerpoint on your teachers laptop. It will not have all the fancy bells and whistles of Powerpoint, but that should be okay, right?

Just need to spend a bit of time trying it out once! Plus, keep the bullets short to allow the Powerpoint presentation to be meaningful.

(My other confusion is that educational "reports" are not usually presented in Powerpoint - this is a presentation tool, not a report writer! What is your teacher really asking for?)

Also to the original poster: do you have enough time to learn a new program before this report is due? Just do it in Word and read it into Powerpoint ... will be easier.

o btw szhosain.. im doing a presetation on automotive evolution of japan.. so i was gonna use bullets of facts, pics of diff. cars from past to present, and present statistics on the state of the economy w/ the auotmobile industry

btw.. if anone has any good sites with statistics on the ecnomomy concerning the industry that would be great too, already have info. but you can never have enough info.

Ah! Thanks for the clarification. In that case, Powerpoint does make the most sense for this report ... :)
