It looks pretty fkin beefy though.
So it looks like bad welding, or it is bad welding? I'm debating picking some of that RUCA up.

I guess I'll throw something out there, since I've been on a suspension rampage as of late:

The PoweredByMax shock dynos are available on their web forums. I'll have to overlay it vs. some other charts I've got, but at first glance they show a lot of crosstalk in adjustment, and a decent amount of variation from shock to shock (which speaks poorly of QC, not nearly as bad as some others I've seen though). Seems like slightly digressive comp, fairly linear rebound, which would lead me to believe they're using the same crap that D2/ Megan/ Stance/ Ksport use, and just overcharging the gas pressure in the shock. But, it's all theory untill someone rips em all apart and compares the hardware, which no one will ever do since there's no point in comparing low end crap to other low end crap for anyone that actually cares about shocks.

They'll probably lower the crap out of your car, though, and work on a limited amount of surfaces. I'll still laugh when people say the damping on them is "harsh" or "stiff", which is basically admiting the shock isn't doing its job at bump speeds.

Once again, as in I warned you in a different thread. I don't care who starts the name calling. You're both grown men. Start acting like it.

Hmm, man I just don't know. But I don't really have the money laying around to drop like $280+ on RUCA.

Yeah, I think I may just get SPL. $80 isn't that much and I don't want to get something that might break and need replaced again.

They're not bad per-se. Tim from Theory in Practice did a more in depth analysis, pretty much stating they're oddly biased with far too low compression damping and far too high rebound, but I had only talked about them briefly with him. In theory they'd be ok for street driving, but from a performance (grip) standpoint, I'd think they'd end up short of some other dampers in the price range.

Drift is still basically developing, though. A bunch of the prominent drift guys seem to be moving away from overdamped setups that ultimately provide less control. I'd imagine the move has something to do with cars making a lot more useable power than they used to, with the use of ball bearing/ twin scroll turbos.

However, the valving is still pretty odd, even for a drift setup, and it's all assuming the shock dynos they released even mean anything (even though it's odd for a company to release a crappy plot). Ultimately, it's a fair assumption to say they won't be much better (and possibly worse) than any of the other cheap coilovers.
