what exactly is a powerband? and how can i find mine on my car? -91 240 manual.

For lack of a better way to describe it, its the point in your RPM range where you engine begins to make its biggest gains in power output, to the point where an increase in power output slows down significantly or drops off. : ) I'm sure K will have a more amusing response though.

A powerband is a term for the most powerful range of RPM's on a car. Lets say the powerband on a Civic is 4,000 to 5,000. That means that the car accelerates most quickly between 4,000 to 5,000 RPM's.

Justy another 240: I have a '91 se coupe and I'd say my powerband is right around 35 - 55/57hundred or so rpm...

Dude, my civic makes power between 6500-7500 rpms, other than that, it doesnt make any!!

Your 240sx's stock power band is between 3500 and 5500 rpm. That's range where you'll find your best acceleration. Doesn't mean you should keep you engine constantly running between those rpm's. You'd be buying a lotta gas if you did.

u can find ur TRUE POWERBAND by Dynoing ur car. The sheet will tell u

the REAL power band is at 8k.. try it somtime.. its better then a turbo
