So... bought one of those little Mother's PowerBall Mini things. And, I had read somewhere that if you use Meguiar's PlastX on headlights it can clear them up like new. So, I thought I would give it a try.

Sadly, it didn't do much. Headlight lenses on the Q are glass and the PlastX didn't really clear them up. Cleaned them nicely, but no real scratch removal.

However, in looking at the car I some some other plastic areas that I could clean. -Turn markers, front and rear, cleaned up nicely. They aren't clear, of course, but they certainly look newer.-Rear plast covering over the "Infiniti" on 9093 G50 cleared up very nicely. That made a huge difference. Trunk looks like new.-"Chrome" door handles? Oh hell yes. In an apparent epiphany, I thought I would try the powerball/plastx combination on the door handles. Holy crap, what a huge difference. My door handles look like new... well, nearly new. Drivers side front still has key scratches that were too deep to polish out. But, the rest of the handles look AMAZING.

Just a little tip for anyone wanting to do some extra cleaning.

Cool, I was wondering if those do any good.

I bought the large ball, but saw the new one and was thinking about taking it back to get the smaller one. Is it more convenient to use?

It certainly works better in tight spots than the big one. I don't think I could have polished the turn markers and door handles using the original Powerball. Though, it probably woudl have worked on the headlights and plastic brand cover on the trunk.

Now I'm looking for more stuff to try it on... there must be something else on this car that would benefit from a good plastic polish.

That combo works very well. I used it on my s14 lights and they cleared right up. Then I decided to go crazy and polish my stock wheels. Everything was cool until I hit the center cap and stripped it down to raw plastic. God I'm a retard.

I took some pics... but, as is the case with most smaller shiny objects, you can't see enough detail to tell the difference.

I assure you, though, it is a significant difference.

BTW - just to add a little something to my original post. I found that it is REALLY important that you NOT polish until the PlastX is almost dry and pasty. My experience with most polishes is that you should apply the polish and use a machine on it until the product is almost dry, then wipe it all clean. With the PlastX is made a huge difference to polish it for a few seconds with lots of pressure, then wipe off the product while still wet.

How about rear view mirrors? Anyone know if those are plastic or glass? Any reason why the PlastX would hurt them?

OK... going to answer my own question.

Rearview mirrors? Oh heck yes... cleared up those little scratches nicely.

And... a couple more items for the list of things this did wonders on.

Clear plastic cover over the gauge cluster...wow, what a difference this made. Looks brand new, perfectly clear. You wouldn't even know there is a plastic cover now.

Dash clock? Yep, though cleaning was a little dicey. Even the "mini" was a little big for this job... be careful not to polish your vinyl.

Climate control display... did this one by hand, but it still worked well. Not as good as the high speed you get with the drill, but still nice.

Due to me being overseas, could you possibly post a couple pics of the products? As I have no idea what this powerball mini thing looks like.

I assume the PlastX could be found with all the other meguiars stuff, but a pic of that would be cool too.
