Right, this problem has been going on for a while now and still havent been able to fix it. Wierd thing is that Aussie Q45a is having the exact same problem as me now too. The cars are both '89 JDM Q45s.

Now the problem is: Drivers window is not working at all, and the switches on the centre console arent operating the other windows. The passenger and rear windows work when using the switches on the doors though. Window lock button works fine.

Originally somebody did a halfassed test and told me that it was just the switch that was faulty, so i believed him and went off and got a new switch from Japan. Plugged it in to find that it still doesnt work, also tried it on AussieQ45a's car too.

Do the local control units(LCU01-B) on the door ever go bad? Or the body control module? We have 12v getting to the LCU but we aren't really too sure how to test the unit - is there an easy way? What voltages should we be seeing at the switches?

G'Day SiJust wondering if there is some sort of "fail-safe" involved with this problem?

Anyone know if the LCU in the driver door is interchangeable with passenger door LCU. I am trying to isolate the problem with the power windows and figure if I swap the LCU's and the drivers window works OK then the LCU needs to be replaced.........I think The other question is, are the Part Numbers the same?

The connectors for the LCU's are different between the passenger and drivers window, i think one of them has an extra pin or something like that. The n13 pulsar has the same LCU according to FAST. I've been to a few wreckers and none of the pulsars there had power windows.

Does the LCU talk to/control the switches on the centre console?

Does the BCM control the windows or switches at all?

Simon, Have you checked out page EL61 of the FSM. I tried to follow it but it lost me. Let me know more about the Pulsar, I might have more time than you have to follow it up.
