on other cars i've owned with the same problem, i 'rebuilt' the switches. if you're absolutely sure that its not the window track, motor, or short, try taking apart the pw switch. most of the time you would be able to take it apart without destroying it (never did this in a 240 but in many other cars). check the metal contacts under the switches. most likely you will find that some of the contact points will be black from years and years of contact (up, down, up, down over and over). these black spots are where sparks came from and also prevent the motor from getting any current. clean those contact points up. you might have to sand down some of the black spots with some really fine sand paper or steel wool. once they are clean and free of dirt, go ahead and apply some dielectric grease on the contact points (same stuff that comes with spark plug wires). put the switch together, put your door together and see if it works. its better than trying to find a switch in the junk yard. even better if you have a spare you can practice on first.
