The driver side power window on my '04 Maxima has finally decided to stop working - and the window is currently in the full open position! Initially, the motor was "sluggish" and I could "help" the window raise if I lifted or pushed up on the glass. Occasionally would seem "stuck" in the full closed position, but eventually would break free of the seal and open.
Now nothing - it doesn't appear that the switch is even attempting to operate the motor.
I have removed the driver side door switch module and all of the interior trim panels, but I cannot see that there is even an access hole to get a hand on the glass and see if it can be moved by hand. I've located both the switch module and window motor parts on line... and they are NOT CHEAP!!! And I'm not even certain if it is the switch or motor at this point - although I suspect it's the motor based on the progression of the problem.
Can anyone give me some direction on whether this is a project for a novice DYI'er to attempt, or is a trip to the dealership necessary? If dealership, any ideas on how expensive a fix this is going to be?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
