Power window problem after tint?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi guys!

I just got my EX last week and I took it to tint right after I drove it off the lot. This morning I noticed the one touch window down works fine but the auto up no longer work. Since I have never tried to use this feature before I got it tinted, I am not sure if its the tint or its the car...I know dealership always blame on the tint before they even look at it, so I just want to check if anyone had similar experience.

Thanks for the help

I'm planning to get mine tinted too, so let me know what you find out. What percent tint do you have on the front windows?

Mine did not work at delivery and I found that I had to activate it.

However i dont think i pressed the button for 10 seconds this was too long and set false limits to not allow the window to close all the way, (basically i believe that the window module is learning a resistance level to know how long to keep the motor on in order to have one touch )

So if you try it and the window doesnt go all the way up or down dont freak out, it happened to me you can always start over some times you have to wait a bit.

You will have to do it on all windows that are needed to be reset or activated.

here is the link as well

In order to re-program the switch there are a few steps:

(1) Raise the window.

(2) When it's completely closed, hold the switch in the window-up position for 10 seconds.

(3) Lower the window.

(4) When it's completely open, hold the switch in the window-down position for 10 seconds.

(5) Repeat steps #1 and #2.

At this point the problem should be no more. Try it once or twice at a later time if the issue persists. If a second try still doesn't remedy the situation it may require dealer service after all.

Thanks!

Yeah I got it working now by following the steps in the shop manual.I thought it was defected at first cause my telescoping steering failed 10 min after I drove it off the lot...

But now I got both auto up and down working.

Tint should never affect how a window operates. The motor is much stronger than that of tint. If the tint was not put on right, the window will just tear it up when you operate the window.
