My windows all work fine, but the driver window (I never sit in the passenger seat to use the door switch for that one) looses it's "one-touch" down function occasionally, always immediately after startup. Sometimes it'll come back later, without even restarting the car.

I'm not sure if it's a switch or control module issue at this point. I suspect the switch, since normal up and down work correctly. The switch "feels" fine, but that doesn't mean much.

One other question: is the electronic box that rests inside the armrest behind the door panel for the driver door only, or the master control for all windows and locks? Basically, I'm wondering if I can just swap the passenger and driver side modules to see if it makes any difference.

It could be the door control unit or the switch assy itself. I do not think they are interchangable since the encoder is different for each door.

How is your pin fit at the door switch connector?

Do you have a spare door switch you can throw in it?

Connection into (and out of) the control module itself is good. I haven't checked the connection at the switch itself. I have a few boxes of random spare parts, so I might have a switch. If not I'm sure I can get one fairly easily.

That may be a good idea to replace it.

The windows run on digital pulse signals and are a PITA if you don't have a scope. I have yet to search for a DIY diagnosis solution but if you use a meter it will come up with an everage voltage. It is not out of the realm of comprehension for a window to still work and the auto function to fail.

Steve is correct.

It's probably the switch.

Strangely, my one-touch window function suddenly began working again yesterday after several months of never working at all. Only thing I can think of is that the cold killed the one-touch function somehow. Yesterday was the warmest day in probably 6 months.

I dunno if these have the same thing as the 93 but I took my switch apart once because of my rear passenger not rolling up.I found a copper (think) metal that bends in a way to make it rock back and forth.I scratch both side with a screw driver and it made them shiny.Put it back together and amazingly it worked. My window now rolled up and down.

Do at your own risk though.
