Hello,

I have a 03 M45 and I suspect the front left window lift motor is out. Do you guys have any experience replacing it that can share some insights?

Is this a easy, intermediate, or advance job to do yourself?

I have called all the parts store you can think of(napa, carquest, o'rally, infiniti parts usa...etc) The only three options I found are:
1. new through Dealer @ $358
2. send in you core and wait for rebuild with cardone @ $102 + shipping and waiting time
3. Rebuilt cardone at Amazon for $222

I am not sure if you have to take out the whole regulator and how hard it will be to put it all back in.

thanks

Check Rockauto...a few weeks ago they were closing out some window motors....not sure what year(s). Sorry, no experience with this job.

I did. Rockauto was the one that you must send in your core and wait forever and it may un rebuildable.

I finally found it on infinitiusa and it was $250. Got it done tonight and it took me a good 8 hours. Very small opening to get your hands and the regulator through. Not built to get work on.

The brand new motor from infiniti is made in Philippine. No wonder they break so easily.

One concern I have is after I put it back in, It is still very loud and not very smooth. It was loud and slow before but I thought it was the motor going out. I wonder what is going on. Any thoughts?

I would take it to a body-shop, they give the best price on this type of work and they do it very quickly.

Sounds like a lubrication issue. I had a loud/slow window in my 06 M45 and an independent mechanic recommended I spray silicon lubricant between the door and the window on both sides to try to get everything lubricated gain. I did and it worked. I think I used liquid wrench. The window came up all oily a couple of times, so I had to clean that off, but it doesn't do that any more and the window works as fast as the others. Sorry I didn't read this thread sooner, because it sounds like if I had read it and mentioned this it could have possibly saved you $250, but I suppose it could still save you having someone else work on it.

my 03 has 110k now the passenger side just went out. Can you believe that? I guess at least I know how to do it. But man, these infinities are not very reliable.

Sir, your car is 10 years old and has over 100k miles on it. A window motor does not make the entire car 'unreliable'. We call that 'wear'. Some other brands need an engine after 10 years / 100k miles.

So I am wondering where is the best place to purchase a passenger window motor for an 03 M45?

Rockauto has the best price nut you may have to send them the core first and wait. Check orally they may be able to get it quicker and you can return core afterwards. If you want brand-new nissan parts then InfinitiUSA. If you don't mind used I would also checkout ebay.

touche. I'm surprised his 4.5 didn't need to be replaced yet.
