Anyone out there that can give me advice on the difficulty of swapping out a power window motor vs swapping out the whole motor/regulator assembly? (I'm working on a 1996 I30t). I have a complete aftermarket assembly available for ~ $70, or an OEM regulator only for $56. I'm inclined to go with the OEM regulator to ensure a good fit, but need to know if it's a pain in the a$$ to swap out the motor.

Thanks!

i'd go with the oem one, and replacing it is a little bit hard and takes some time. before taking it apart take a good look at a service manual

I don't know price wise what the difference is but when I replaced mine on my 3rd gen (I've done all but the front passenger side one) I just replaced the whole unit because I wasn't going to take a chance.

Oh and I went with aftermarket but they were dubbed OEM replacement. In other words they weren't "NISSAN" products but they were OEM replacements off a different brand and they work just fine.

As far as difficulty mine were VERY easy to do...but I don't know if the 4th gen's are as easy. But if they are set up the same you shouldn't have a problem.

i just replaced my right rear motor in my 2k maxima, very simple, 4 bolts on the track, 3 on the motor, 2 on the glass, but even with the new motor, switches, it still dident solve my problem......window goes down, but wont go up.only goes up if i use a sep battery on the motor itself.
