So the car I bought (an S14) has power windows but they don't work.Everything mechanically seems to be intact, wiring looks good too (no frayed wiring). The previous owner said it needs an amplifier for the switch. I've never heard of an amplifier for a window switch personally but I've never had a power window issues before anyways. What's the most common thing to go wrong with the power windows on the S14s and what most likely to fix it?Thanks

Have you verified the motors work? The FSM tells you how to test them. Usually if the amp goes out one window will work and the other will not. Have you tested your switches? Just because everything is there doesn't mean it works.

I don't have an FSM, I was asking this question to find out what is commonly wrong with the power windows.

Search thru my posts, I almost always say thanks to people who help me.You didn't really answer my question in the first place and my reply was not an attempt at being sarcastic or ungrateful. However I am thankful you answered the second time around. If you'd have posted that answer first I'd have said "Thanks a ton sir" and been done with it.

the wiring is quite simple for the 96-98 so if you have a multimeter you can solve problem.

people will tell you to repair amp but the amp is inside the switch for 96-98
