I did a lot of searching for this, but couldn't find any info since it seems like an unusual problem... The door I previously had on my hatch was dented by the previous owner, to the point where buying a clean door shell was the most cost-effective.

So my local shop guy swapped out the guts and put the new door on. The window in the door came off my old door. The body lines are pretty good match, maybe 1/16" off (as you can see on the rear fender), but hardly noticeable. The issue now is that when I roll it up, it comes up high enough it won't shut without catching on the little lip up top. It's at least 1/4" too high. This isn't an issue now, but by summer time I would like to have the option of rolling them down, and simply rolling them back up.

So I can't find anything on adjusting the height, I looked around and I can't located anything the looks like it raising/lowers the window inside the shell, any help? It's a power door, my hatch is a 92, and it appears the door may have came off a 89-90.

Thats funny. I just fixed my power windows the other day and noticed I have this same issue on both windows. My windows stick out to the point it doesn't allow the door to close properly unless you lower the window a tad. Any input is greatly appreciated.

You can take the inner door panel. On top there are these "brushes" that physically stop the window. I can take pics tomorrow.

Ducky, that would be awesome to get some insight, there are a couple of screw points near the top of the window (right above the cup) but not sure of what to do.

windows work on gears, there is a big crescent moon like one that moves,it moves because there is a motor in the window with a smallergear head, you push the button this little gear spinswhich in turns move the big one up and downthe thing is that they sit snug right, you cant have them slippingbut when you put that s*** back together you got to make sure thegears are lined up so the window opens just the right amount, who ever stripped that s*** should have just marked the crescent gear,

if the gears looks like this n the window motor gear engage anywhere along that n shape, just take it apart and adjust that b****!

hope that helps

I pulled the door panel off, it makes a little bit of sense but not sure where the adjustment should be. A picture would be a big help

so none of my vehicles have power windows but i ripped apart my gfs real quick just to confirm what i thought,on the motor there is a circle end with a gear, thats what spins up and downon the other there will be a screw like object sticking out, it should have a channel cut out of it so you can fit a flat blade into it,thats the window height adjuster you just crank that screw a few turns and try your window until its right where you want it

it looks like a bump at the far right side of the motor

best of luck

ive dealt with so many 240 windows, not a lot too them. toward the top of the door, obviously behind the panel; there is a hole, inside is a 12 or 14mm nut, holding down a L shaped bit of metal. roll your window up, youll see a round cup attached to the glass, that runs into the L, and stops the window. now roll window back down a bit, loosen the nut, and move the L down. dont forget to do both front and back stops (two per window). look at top left of the door in this pic, you can see the L.

Gawd, I am so stupid. My mechanic didn't bother to change those two parts over when he swapped in the clean shell, so once I found out what piece it was missing it works perfect now, stops on time and right where it should. Thanks for all the help, guys
