I've got a 91' Nissan 240sx with a power window problem. The cable broke on the driver's side, and I found out that I can't just replace the cable, but have to replace the entire power window motor. Since I am not in the position to buy a new one and have it fixed, my b/f wants to see if he can replace the drivers side window motor with the passengers side temporairily? Is this possible? Please let me know. I am going through "wind-blown hair" withdrawls.

sorry ya gotta get a new setup. It's happened to me before too. It's easy to fix just go to a junk yard and get the part. The passenger side won't work because it's meant just for that side.

Spal makes aftermarket power windows that install very easy.

Hey, thanks for the welcomes!

Aw well, so its off to the junkyard then. Only problem is we never see my car at the junkyard. Any chance I can use the setup from any other Nissan models, like the Stanza, that are more likely to be at the junkyard? Oh yeah, and if I were to buy it new, any ideas on what it would cost me?

Thanks for the replies to the newbie!
