Has anyone experienced this? All of a sudden one day my power trunk stopped working. I cannot open it. When I press and hold the button on the remote, the car beeps once and the lights flash once but nothing happens. Any ideas?

The source might be one of these:
1) New battery
2) ON/OFF toggle switch for power lift gate operation is switched to OFF
3) Bad fuse
4) Lift gate motor went bad

Just try each one until you find the culprit.

Also, what is the year and trim of your Rogue, so we can have a better idea on helping you out?

It's a 2014 Rogue SV with tech package.

Okay... Since the 2014 is similar to the 2016, did you happen to accidentally press the power trunk switch from ON to OFF? It could be that then or the motor that moves the tail gate went bad, as Nissan uses inferior parts.

No, the power trunk button is turned on, and either ways, I tried both ways. If the motor went bad, how much is it roughly to replace? The frustrating part is that this is a pretty new vehicle just out of warranty.

We feel you. Nissan uses inferior parts so it can sell its vehicles for cheap. I am not sure on how much it costs, but you should go to multiple dealers to see how much they will charge you for the job and go to couple of independent mechanics and see how much they will charge you. Or if you are more inclined towards DIY, just send me a PM and I will send you a copy of the section of the instructions for how to diagnose the motor and how to remove it and install a new one.

Thank you. I think that I will have to try a mechanic. I am not into DIY too much. How would I know if it was the fuse, not the motor?

I am not sure which fuse number goes to the trunk, but if you find out that number, you can pull it out and check if it is blown.
