the power transistor or ignition control module. what is the likely hood of both of mine to go out at the same time? I pulled them to do a continuity test and both failed.

can they be repaired.

Very very unlikely.

And no they can't be repaired as far as I know.

when I try to test them with my multimeter I get the same results which turn out to be bad. no continuity at all

Testing transistor often requires more than a VOM. They make special alpha, beta, conductance testers.

Never seen any 90-95 ignitor failures unless destroyed while testing.

any suggestions on alternatives? after removing them the car still does the exact same thing when turning the ignition. My concern was with my vom the tests were exactly the same result with both modules.

Pretty ironic

Wouldn't a faulty power transistor or two bring up a Check Engine Light code?

I have one for sale if you interested Mike.

Also, when I put the ignition to on (of course the car still not starting) when I press the gas pedal down I here a small buzzing sound from the engine bay. Any ideas if that is normal or not?

My car is far from normal but when I asked about this Heath said it has to do with a EGR solenoid.

Is $32 shipped for the power transistor fair? PM or email me so we can discuss further details...

You should also be able to check the ECU codes and see just in case, But if you confirmed that the transistors are bad then you may have nailed it.

I hope so let me test a bit more tonight then if thats the issue I am interested. Thanks.

So with the egr solenoid is that a bad sound or a normal (non harmful) sound
