power top doesn't work after jdm motor swap

Happened to 3 people so far in Houston, 2 with SR and me with CA, all 5 speeds... power top worked fine before swap but doesn't work after.Any tips?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe thats a transmission thing and not the motor. That being said, I believe it has to do with the sensor that tells the motor the car is in park and to put the top up. Since you no longer have a park, you need to rewire that sensor thingy...

You got it! You have to convince the ECU that your car is in park. I don't recall the exact wires...

Check out the 5 spd conversion thread in the 'vert forum... I think it's in there.

yeah from reading the thread I was led to believe its the black/white wires, which we all had to wire together to get the car to start. Are there other wires??

From the thread:"If you look at how I've done my wiring, I have directly connected the brown/yellow and green/blue wires. This causes the car to believe it's in Park at all times, allowing the top to function. "

reading pwns me... but to be fair that write up is very confusing on the wiring.
